If you understand your definition, can you explain it to me?
Or you could just Google it instead of making the fat woman do the work for you? It’s literally the first definition when you search “body positivity”. I swear y’all love to weaponizing your incompetence so much
Body positivity is a social movement focused on the acceptance of all bodies, regardless of size, shape, skin tone, gender, and physical abilities, while challenging present-day beauty standards as an undesirable social construct.
"To be a commander or pilot astronaut, you need to be 158cm to 190cm tall, and to be a mission specialist you need to be between 149cm to 193cm. In general, astronauts should weigh between 50 and 95 kilograms (110 and 209 pounds) and measure between 149.5cm and 190.5cm."
body positivity and job requirements are two different things. no one is shaming Lizzos dancers (or even Lizzo) in this thread. you can feel good about yourself even when you can't do stuff. it's literally what positivity is.
you can be in a wheelchair and play basketball, you can't be in the NBA but that doesn't mean you should hate yourself or that other people do.
Lol tell me you hate yourself with out telling me you hate yourself 🙃🙃
I hope you eventually get to a more comfortable place with your body. 👍🏻 it definitely took me awhile and look at me now! Just over here glorifying obesity and only sitting in a chair all day right?
also saying all of this as a pretty big Lizzo fan who liked most everything about her. she's a hometown homie, she's a big girl. and for all the "fat is beautiful" discourse around her, if you followed her for any sort of time you'd know she's really gone on a health kick and lost a ton of weight, went vegan, posting exercise and eating tips, etc. because it's better for her health and better for her career. because she is probably well aware that it's hard out there being a big person in that world. and it super sucks that she sucks, and I do feel bad because as a fat black woman she isn't going to get the Chris Brown treatment, people will just shuck her out and that sucks but she kind of deserves it if she's not paying staff and sexually harassing her crew.

I'm fine but thanks for asking. there's many reasons I can't be an astronaut 🥴

Prob first and foremost bc you’re a terrible mansplainer but ok 👍🏻
me: you can't be an astronaut if you're over 200lbs
them: wow how does hating yourself feel?
Nah dude you’ve just got a ton of internalized fat phobia. Definitely recognize it as a fellow fat person. In all fairness to you, it’s a hard thing to recognize and even harder to deal with.
Don't make me go in.. on both EAP and Dad Dog. because I know you both, and y'all are shooting arrows at the wrong situation. I have to agree with fucking tЯist♡n. Y'all need to slow down.
Lol says the skinny guy who posted a video of a fat person making fun of themselves
To be clear, I want you to realize the point is the celebrity having an inner monologue about how much that person should have gotten the job.
edit: and to be more specific, it's clear that Chris Farley can dance his ass off; and actually kills it. The fact is that the panel is clearly body-specific. It's satire. I'm sorry if it's triggering but Patrick Swayze literally is like you should win this.
edit: and ya know how much shit I feel about being skinny? I want to be 180lbs and muscle. But it's not going to happen unless I eat meat. So

and to be clear to you, you are also missing the point(s).
first of all: when lizzo hired this dancer they were already fat. which means one of two things happened- 1: they could never dance in the first place and she still hired them or 2. that over the course of a multi month tour where they were all on their feet dancing for 3+ hours 5 nights a week, this dancer gained SO MUCH weight they could no longer perform their job. why would that happen? injury, binge eating disorder, metabolism diseases etc. and those all need to be addressed in other ways than saying WELL SHE JUST GOT TOO FAT TO DANCE.
second of all: please do not tell me how to interpret something as a fat person. ever.

I didn't. you just kinda attacked me as if I like being skinny, I literally am at 140 and need to find a way to gain weight. I never said you couldn't have an opinion

i did not say skinny was bad, unlike a bunch of people in this thread acting like it's ok to be ugly about someone being fat b/c it is clearly a choice and we are all gross, lazy, immoral, nasty, etc etc.

yup. that would be like a person with a big ass posting a video of a person with a small ass making fun of themselves and saying LOOK THEY"RE MAKING FUN OF THEMSELVES IT IS OK. you don't get to tell people similar to what is being portrayed in the video how to feel when you are not.
i just don't really think y'all have the capacity to understand that fatness can affect how people treat you NOT just in a situation like the fucking NBA or NASA (which are ridiculous examples and you know it).
As of 2020, in forty-eight states, it is perfectly legal to fire someone, refuse to hire them, deny them housing, or turn them down for a table at a restaurant or a room in a hotel simply because they’re fat.

Yeah I did google it but your definition was not similar at all which is why I said I don’t understand your definition and I asked for clarification
you straight up can't ride roller coasters if you're too fat.
you can't be an Air Force pilot if youre 300 pounds
you can't be a contortionist if you can't fit in a small box. there's a reason the little dude was in the box in oceans 11 and not Carl Reiner.
as a fat man, have to echo that it’s quite a limiting thing. Which is why I hold my initial belief, that obesity should never be glorified or celebrated, so strongly.
But also, to anyone on here commenting who’s never been fat, do try to have some empathy. Being obese is even more mentally exhausting than physically exhausting. You just walk around all day feeling like a second class citizen, you get less respect in professional situations even if you’re hella credentialed, and don’t even get me starting on how impossible it makes dating. You wake up every morning convinced you’ll make progress towards weight loss that day, then after the stress of the day (which is amplified by the obesity) you end up binge eating at 9 pm and undoing all the work you did. It’s an incredibly difficult to break cycle. I did break it once and lose 100 lbs, and it improved my life drastically. But as often happens with obesity, it came back because I lost it in an unsustainable way. It’s not just difficult to break the cycle, the cycle will come back if you let it.
This is why I’m anti body positivity. Because society should be working to curb this epidemic, not normalize it.
TL/DR: obesity is mentally & physically exhausting, don’t celebrate or normalize it.
