I'm just wondering if it's some mental thing Liberals have. When people have perfectly valid reason for not supporting their shitty candidate they feel the need to put words in peoples' mouths and/or talk to them like they are 5 years old.
In other words, literally nobody currently in this thread has ever said anything close to Trump "will help prevent more atrocities in the Middle East." Nobody is arguing he'd be better on domestic issues than Biden either. Nobody thinks this.
The few of us not voting/considering not voting for Biden are doing it on moral reasons. I don't expect anyone here to agree with it. I don't expect it to make a difference. I certainly don't expect a better outcome out of it. I'm not trying to talk anyone out of voting. Everything I've said is pretty strait fucking forward.
Everything you’ve said here about recognizing Trump is worse disproves the notion of not voting for Biden because of moral grounds, unless you’re privileged enough to live in a place where that vote truly won’t make a difference (in which case I really hope you’re still voting for other races). I cannot stomach the argument that it’s the “morally right” thing to not vote for Biden if there is even the slightest risk that doing so helps elect Trump. Because the “morally right” thing given the options is not letting Trump get re-elected.
I didn't argue it's the morally right thing to not vote for him. You're putting words in people's mouths again. I have no interest in arguing I'm doing the objectively moral thing and others aren't. That does nothing for me. I said "on moral reasons." Speaking for myself, my morals, ideology and worldview. I don't actually think my single vote is all that precious but there's nothing in me that can cast a vote that in any way condones this administration. I'm not a Democrat. I do not owe the Democrats a goddamn thing.
I'm fine with you not liking that or agreeing with it. Just as I'm fine with you voting for Biden. Although I don't think many liberals are actually very good at arguing for him. I've voted the lesser of two evils plenty. I didn't vote for Biden in 2020. I have a long list of reasons for despising this motherfucker. I did vote for Warnock and Ossoff... in the runoffs and everything. Not doing it anymore. I have zero faith the Dems have what it takes to stop what is coming. I'm done wasting my time.
Unfortunately I'm not an Israeli citizen, otherwise I'd do everything in my power to oust Netenyahu and his Likud party/majority coalition from power. If you're an Israeli citizen, I sure hope thats a top priority.
As a US citizen, I am unwilling to risk being committed to ADX Florence for carrying on the legacy of Ted Kaczynski on US defense contractor HQ's, so I'm gonna do what I can in my legal sphere of influence and vote for the candidate representing the major political party whose policy most aligns with my interests, and also reach out to said representatives to convey my opinions on relevant issues.
To be clear, I'm very much of the opinion that ACAB, particularly when it comes to local and regional LEO's. I've learned this from personal experience. They exist to serve property owners and the prejudices/fiscal incentives of their municipalities and power hungry ranks. They are a taxpayer funded gang, per Castle Rock v. Gonzales: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Town_of_Castle_Rock_v._Gonzales.
I thought the goal of the protests was for the respective universities to divest themselves of anything related to Israel?
I sure hope that isn’t all they wanted to accomplish considering they are getting arrested and expelled.
Unfortunately they were sorely mistaken if they believed their university would have any more sway on the Israel/Palestine conflict than you or I as US citizens.

wut.
divestment is saying people are part of an organization and want to have say and change what the group theyre a part of is doing. there's no hierarchy of that dynamic with citizenship.
oh those workers were sorely mistaken if they believed their *company/union/whatever* would have any more sway on the israel/palestine conflict than you or i as us citizens

thats not what any civic action is about. wtf
Being a student of a university is not the same as being the citizen of a country. At least under the current paradigm.

Whether you vote for him, against him, or abstain, you’re having an impact on the election. And if your morals are such that they don’t allow you to vote for Biden, they do allow you to give Trump a slight leg up by not voting.
I’ve spent many pixels in this thread explicitly offering a case for Biden as a valid vote in and of itself, not just as an anti-Trump vote, and would be happy to do so again. As I’ve said repeatedly, his response to Israel is easily the thing I’ve been most disappointed in him over. But abstaining in and of itself has repercussions, and it feels like you’re not considering the morality of those repercussions, simply the morality of voting for Biden. You’re banking on those repercussions not coming to fruition so you can feel good that you didn’t offer your vote to Biden.

yes and you framed it as students think they're better than citizens. They know they're citizens, they know they're students, they know the difference, they know they're both.
not US related, but Sadiq Khan probably the most left London Mayor ever is now very live to be upset by the conservatives due to the Palestine/Israel war
It took less than 3 weeks but I guess student loan forgiveness wasn’t enough…
Nothing ever really was
It’s the extreme lack of logic.
Rate the 3 Presidential Candidates on a scale of 1 to 10:
Biden: 4 of 10 RFK Jr.: 2 of 10 Trump: 1 of 10
In this scenario jakicker and company make the argument that Biden doesn’t “represent” them enough so they’d rather…checks notes…vote for someone that represents them less.
Not good enough, see me!!!! level grades. Biden slightly better than mid though I wish he was more forceful with Israel if there is a real way to do that.

I didn’t go lower than 1 on my scale so Russian Agent Orange is as low as it goes. RFK didn’t try to pull an insurrection so he automatically gets 1 notch above insurrection.

I guess I don't understand British politics enough, but how is he under threat considering the Tories got blown out of the water in the local elections and Sunak is likely out if there is a general election soon? Is London full of NIMBYs?
I will be voting for women’s rights. Because this is some next level bullshit.
As soon as Collin Davis found out his ex-partner was planning to travel to Colorado to have an abortion in late February, the Texas man retained a high-powered antiabortion attorney — who court records show immediately issued a legal threat. If the woman proceeded with the abortion, even in a state where the procedure remains legal, Davis would seek a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the abortion and “pursue wrongful-death claims against anyone involved in the killing of his unborn child,” the lawyer wrote in a letter, according to records.
edit-Molly Duane, a senior staff attorney with the Center for Reproductive Rights.......described the woman's relationship with Davis (shithead) as "toxic and harmful".
