Still overall peaceful (if your definition of peaceful is walking down the middle of the street yelling at the top of your voice). Nothing that could be spun as "belligerent" imo

are you at the plaza? I saw things looking like it's going to be bad there (threatened pepper spray)

It wasn't "bad", but yes I saw one person who had been sprayed.
I want to but...my best friend was at Charlottesville. She got injured. I will never forget getting that phone call from her, and it was admittedly made me a lot more hesitant to go to things like this because I know she never wants to receive a call like that from me, too.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I'm at the protest in Harrisburg. We shut down the streets around the Capitol. Peaceful, no counter protestors, no riot gear from cops.

Glad to hear the pigs are not being violent monsters up there at your protest.
Last night's set up in Charlotte has me freaked though :/

Anyone think that George Floyd could be the murder that broke the camels back on our political system? With so much going wrong in America something feels genuinely different about this. People even tried to riot into the White House. Idk doing that seems crazy because that is an easy way to get shot. Could we see major change from this?

We left and now they started tear gassing and shit. Headed back.

If cities are burned down the only major change will be towards right wing politicians who will pledge to “ restore law and order”
It’s starting to get pretty real in Columbia. A 6 PM curfew was enforced and there are multiple fires but the on the street coverage is spotty at best so it’s hard for me to tell where the fires are exactly. I would be trying to keep a closer eye on what’s going on but I have to work. Everyone be safe if you’re going out and protesting.
I speak up because per stats from 2017, Columbus has the highest per capita number of police killings of black people among the fifteen largest cities in the US. Over the last several days, people have been pepper sprayed for sitting in protest. Wooden bullets. Etc.
I have read SFA's posts for years and typically find them informative and astute. But given the timing, and lack of antecedent, I'd hate to have it be taken as mocking the wrong people.
The struggle is real. The time is for solidarity and impeccability.
PS- I have found Unicorn Riot on Youtube to have by far, the best 'person on the street' coverage of the Minneapolis situation. Very hopeful to see the majority of protestors so tuned in. Of course, the later into the night the footage goes, the more it turns into a Bonnaroo late night scenario !

Unicorn riot was what I was watching the other night when it was so terrifying.
It seems odd that EVERY person arrested was from out of state. But what is their goal/reason for lying?
Blaming everything on outside agitators serves many purposes:
Undermine the motivation for the protests Confuse people and keep them at home because they don't want to associate with antifa/white supremacists/etc Make the general public amenable to violent police crackdowns on the protests
They've been using this line literally since slavery
