Meanwhile I’m still trying to get my 10k back for our rental in April.
It's a long shot, but have you tried credit card travel insurance (assuming you didn't get separate travel insurance)? I'm out about $1400 on a house, still need to submit a request for insurance though.

We’ve filed a complaint with Amex. Hoping that since California has implemented a shelter in place order through the majority of our reservation that some decision will be made regarding the inability to use the residence. We are waiting to hear back from Amex regarding the claim.
US seems to want to open things up again in the next few 3-4 weeks.
Summer time will help and hopefully there is a better plan for mass testing soon. Could help us isolate people who have it and don't have it.
There's zero chance the US is open again in 3-4 weeks. The US hasn't even fully shut down yet. We're seeing from places like China and (the last few days) Italy that it's possible to get this under control with strong distancing measures and loads of testing, but we're STILL struggling with testing, and only about 1/4 of the country is in any form of lockdown at this point with unclear at best federal guidance. We're dragging our feet and drawing it out, and it's going to get a lot worse in the next couple of weeks. We need more time to know that once a country's gotten its numbers under control, it won't come back - still too early to know even in China - and even if small businesses like restaurants or bars re-open there's a fair chance massive gatherings will still be forbidden. And while summer may help, there's plenty of evidence to suggest it could come roaring back in Fall, and I suspect we'd be ill prepared to handle it then, too.
Like I said, it could happen in October, I don't think it's definitely not happening. But I'd happily pay an extra $100 to get a ticket on stubhub when that day comes for the peace of mind knowing that if the worst case happens - this drags out til the fall, and risks bankruptcy for AEG (very much a possibility) - I've got my money in hand now.
Were you W2 or W1?
Speaking for W2: I bet there will be another GA sale and it will be easy to cop tix. I can see tix sell under face value for W2 at least
Lots of people who have kept their tix are not 100% sure they will make it in Oct
Gaga's 2017 set was boring to me personally October is far enough away for it to be fine, it's the back end of March right now, that's slightly less than half a year until Coachella. Coachella wouldn't be in danger of cancellation unless this stuff leaks into August imo. That would give us a 2 month heads up. But we're probably going to see June shows start to get cancelled or postponed soon though. I'll cry if Hayley Williams' June show gets cancelled.

It's hard to imagine a realistic scenario in which you would have to pay over face value. This festival was not selling well pre-virus. There are a thousand reasons why demand will likely tank significantly if they're able to hold it at all.

Thats getting postponed. She sent a message out that she will make the shows happen one way or another.
If this can get under control by say mid may, and it drops off like it did in China, then itll be the most ideal scenario. Look at Wuhan where they just let everyone out of lockdown and theyll be able to start getting back to normal in 2 weeks following that.

Do we think they’re will be adds to the lineup ? If so they should add Dua Lipa. Her new album is looking like to be the first big pop album of the decade . I thought it was odd they didn’t get her for the lineup. Seemed like a missed opportunity. Any other suggestions for October adds ?

I don't think we'll get anyone on Dua Lipa's level unless she's a replacement for a sub not able to do October. BUT there's like a 99% chance that she'll come out to do the Sugar remix with BROCKHAMPTON or she'll pop up at Calvin Harris' set, maybe both if they don't conflict.
I do think we'll get a few adds, we usually get a couple for April anyways. But yeah I don't think we'll get any big names unless they're replacements.
I'd love to get some lower line names who have dropped really good projects this year and/or have upcoming projects like: CHIKA, Don Toliver (surprised he wasn't a package deal with Travis to be honest), Thundercat, mxmtoon
Maybe other acts who had April obligations previously who could possibly be available now as well.
I just don't really see a way this happens, even in October, and I wonder what effect it will have on Coachella 2021.
There's still 6 and a half months for things to get better. Too soon to be super pessimistic about it imo
even if the virus is subdued by then, the economic strain will last much longer. it's hard for me to picture Coachella counting on 200,000 people spending thousands of dollars on a festival trip a couple months after they've spent all summer on unemployment. i'm also kinda surprised it wasn't just moved to one weekend.

Yeah well most of us already bought tickets and are just riding this thing out

Most people already have their passes. I think most Coachella goers are SoCal local, even if the fields aren't packed to 200k capacity, there will still be enough people making it out to not have to cancel due to underselling. Weekend 1 will more than likely still be packed out, locals will grab a lot of the tickets that travelers may be getting refunded. Even if it's narrowed to one weekend, worst case, it still goes on as long as it's subdued by July in my opinion.
New Dua Lipa is absolutely SLAP CITY. Electric pop music. Would assume she's on the 2021 lineup... no way Coachella misses out on her two years in a row, right?

I’d assume probably not. Usually 2nd line artists have new releases between May/June to a month or so after their Coachella appearance unless they’re a DJ or legacy act. Her album coming out now puts her outside that window for 2021 and she honestly just should’ve been on the lineup for this year.
Although who knows what will happen next year given all the cancellations.
I think the usual booking patterns are going to be thrown out the window for 2020/2021. The entire music industry has been upended, and things won’t go back to normal any time soon.

Ask Halsey what she was doing 2nd line in 2016 when her album came out August of 2015. Billie was where she was last year without a new album announcement, same for Cardi. Yes, those 2 ended up releasing late March/April but not at the time of the poster popping up.
I do agree that Dua shouldve been on the lineup this year given her cycle and promo/release strategy. But who knows, maybe she does pop up in October. If you wanted to use metrics alone, she is easily head and shoulders above the likes of Ari Lennox and Summer Walker who had zero business being that high up to begin with.
