Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I think that you're making my point. You have a ton of great jam bands but they're all really standing in the shadow of the Grateful Dead and The Band. I've even got Trey so that undercuts your Phish pick a bit. And that jam session? Epic.
That said, nobody's voting for jam bands anyways. These were really just because we liked 'em.
How is nobody voting for jambands? Bonaroo started as a jam festival and everyone seems to be longing for the old days...
besides if I drafted based on what I thought would get votes I never would have signed up due to the fact that I would have had zero fun
It's never been a winning strategy in previous drafts. Bonnaroo is no longer a jam-centric festival and Inforooers don't have the same attachment.
Best 90s rock lineup and I guess you could say second best metal. Best punk. Yeah yeah you might have coltrain or miles but Chick Corea, pat methany, and Quincy Jones have something to say. Oh yeah probably best rap but definitely if you’re about NY hip hop. Did I mention beyonce, Curtis mayfield, Barry white, Charles Bradley, ginuwine, Aaliyah holding it down on rnb
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

You’re right if I really thought I could win I’d draft obscure electronic shit nobody’s ever heard of and all sounds exactly the fucking same

I have Floyd doing two sets because their “peak” is so debatable and in their tour for each album, they played their most recent album in full. If I were to say The Wall was their peak, then that’s all you’d get. But this way, you could say one set is The Wall and another is Dark Side. Whatever your preference is. Not the case for most bands.
People have different favorite albums for every band that has more than one album.
At any major modern festival - your Coachella, your Bonnaroo, your Glasto, what have you - my undercard would be one of their strongest years ever. But on top of that, I have three absolute legends as headliners. Go into any college dorm today and it won't be long before you find posters of John Lennon, Janis Joplin, or Pink Floyd tacked up on the walls. Oh sure, Floyd was more than just David... but c'mon. The Gilmour years = the best years. Sorry Rog & Syd, you know it's true.
I have arguably the best vocal lineup of any of these festivals. For every one of my top acts through to Franz Liszt, there's not a single act without someone who can't saaaaannngg. No matter how many times you've seen videos of The Jackson Five, it's still staggering to realise that depth and breadth is coming from a pre-pubescent boy. Then there's Robert Plant, Ella Fitzgerald, Morrissey, Justin Timberlake, Robert Smith, Boy George and Robert Johnson, in addition to the sometimes raw and sometimes dulcet tones of my three headliners. But what about Ricky Gervais, I hear you jokesters countering? Well, I urge you to look up Seona Dancing, Ricky Gervais' moderately successful 1980s pop band. I haven't even gotten into the mid-tier yet, and I'm already frothing. The whole shebang just oozes punk and soul... and all you punks would be sad souls to not vote for it.
no. I could have had Michael Jackson do two sets but that would be lame.
I think there are only a few artists out there where this is justified imo. Someone like David Bowie or bands like The Beatles, Queen, Pink Floyd, Radiohead have such a rich discography that sometimes a second set is a cool addition to your line up. I don't think it's lame, not for this draft.
I considered doing two David Gilmour sets, just because Pink Floyd have such a broad catalogue that he seemed like the most likely to put on two completely different shows. But once I started making my schedule, I realised there was nowhere to realistically schedule him. LN after John Lennon, maybe? Seemed like overkill.

Nope, when you make the poll, you have the option of keeping the votes hidden until the poll closes or is locked, which cdevaney always does.
So only the Mods can see the votes. Cool.
I have to say, you guys all did an amazing job. You really worked hard on this and the posters and videos reflect that. Live nation or AEG should hire some of you guys to curate their festivals. Although it might be a bit harder since you can't hire dead people.

Sometimes I wonder if people from like festivals come around here to lurk and decide to contact someone based on their musical knowledge to give them a job in the industry or something. Or maybe that's just a little naive lol.

i think when people are pining for the "good old days" of bonnaroo they mean 2013-2015.
having said that your lineup got one of my votes.
and cdevaney trey solo doesn't undercut phish. i love TAB but if phish is gumbo TAB is soup with okra. still good because okra is awesome but it ain't gumbo.
