Bane’s World. I dig em. Calm, yacht-rock style. Definitely would see again. Not sure they really fit the vibe of the day.
Taco’s dj set was great. I remember seeing OF back in 2012 when he’d open with a 5-10 set to set the mood. Now he’s doing 45-60 min sets with well-thought visuals and pyro. He’s come up in a big way. Hella proud. He opened with Come Back To Earth for Mac, and ended with Frank’s Self Control. Guests were YBN Cordae and JUICEWRLD.
Jaden Smith was actually a really good. His songs are great live, and his commentary is very odd. He claimed to be Tyler’s boyfriend at one point. Then needed his actual girlfriend to come up to give him a hug for emotional support. It was a trip to think how this guy is Will and Jada’s son. Im looking forward to how his music career plays out.
Billie Eilish was the most surprisingly good set. My friend’s gf really wanted to see her and we wanted a good spot for Earl, as well as being tired of walking so much. But yeah she’s going to be huge. Reminded me of Lorde tbh.
Earl was amazing. It was inspiring to see him so happy, through what he says is the toughest year of his life. The new stuff is thinking-man’s rap, as expected. He had a new track with Nak’el Smith that was a major banger. Then he ended his set by bringing out Rico Nasty. That was lit for real.
Made it over to vip during Post Malone. Lol. I really dont care too much for his music but he seems like a cool and grateful dude. He has a strong stage presence. I can see how he is the most sought after male artist of 2018.
Got a really close spot for Kids See Ghosts in vip. The GA side nearly cost us the show because they kept cramming up and wouldnt step back. Took the Fire Marshall speaking over the mic 4 times before they finally did. All the sudden a curtain rose up and we were on the brink of the show starting. Could barely see two figures walk into the box and within 3 minutes the curtain fell and Father Stretch My Hands started. Ye let us sing that one. They went into the KSG album in full as yall know. Some songs were on point but sometimes Ye forgot lyrics. Cudi was in great spirits and sounded awesome. Figured they’d do Welcome To Heartbreak but Paranoid and Pursuit were very nice surprises. Ghost Town was an epic closer. I did expect more energy from the crowd though. Idk, the show was good enough. Not the best of the weekend or even the day for me.
1. EARL 2. Billie Eilish 3. Taco 4. Jaden Smith 5. Kids See Ghosts 6. Post Malone 7. Bane’s World
Have you seen Earl before? I've heard not great things about him live before.
yeah this was my 4th seeing him solo. The short sets are usually better for some reason. He just had a hyped vibe i hadnt seen him in since the old days. Being there for the debut of a few new songs and the guest spots by Nak and Rico were crazy.

This is definitely it chiefs. Completely disregard the previous. Making lists is difficult sometimes.
i don't see how anyone can listen to earls studio output and expect anything different live.
*he's a personal favorite, and i had a wonderful time at his show at Day for Night.
If you’ve seen him a few times you know how widely varied his sets can be. When he’s brooding, they can get monotonous. When he’s happy (e.g. D4N and to a slightly lesser degree CFGC), the shows are more fun. JMO.
Primzahl, on tv, Flatbush Zombies were up there with Tyler and Pusha T. All of us watching some or all of both days at my house agreed. You can’t see everything for sure, so that’s understood, and they didn’t show The Internet so I can’t speak on that. But I had TtC, FZ and Pusha as head and shoulders above top 3 for different reasons and aspects of their show. I’m glad you enjoyed the festival, and I hope Tyler shows it again next year to those of us not in Southern California.
We kind of saw some of FbZ but we were walking around and headed somewhere else plus it was their last song so i already missed out at that point. It wouldve been awesome to see them + Push (friends wanted to bail) + Domo (ended up at Bane’s World instead) + Left Brain (in the uber) + Mike G (was mid set when got to the fest and wanted to check stuff out)
I wonder if they take a break at some point, just from that mock almost everyone has already played it. KSG was a coup but idk what they can get that wouldn't feel like a retread.

That's why I put OF. If they got Frank there for the reunion too it would be an incredible selling point (even if they are only playing OF music). It would also feel like more of a special event than just booking them individually, even if I would prefer it.

Presale starts Friday so although I think that's a good point, won't be this year if that happens.
Others I'd like to see on there/think could happen: Clipse (just let me have this) Danny Brown FIDLAR (due for a return with new album to fill the punk slot) Anderson .Paak ScHoolboy Q JPEGMAFIA
As far as headliners, who knows? But the crowd that goes is gonna buy tickets anyway with Tyler's new album dropping.
Tame Impala - Tyler - Billie Eilish - anyone's guess
