I thought Grizzly Bear's status post-2018 was up in the air? Not complaining, of course. We're now at the point for nostalgia fests for 2000's indie kids and I will absolutely be there, and I never got to see The Rapture back in the day either. Very reasonably priced too.

Is there anything I am overlooking for shows in the San Diego area for the week of July 4th? Lot of cool shit planned around it. Jason Isbell/FJM at the start of June, Santana & The Doobie Brothers at the end of June, Beck at the end of July, and The Raconteurs at the July.
All I am seeing between the 2nd and 6th of July is New Found Glory and The Struts.
RUFUS DU SOL with Bob Moses (and Lastlings, whoever that is) at Los Angeles State Historic Park (site of the old FYF) on Sat Oct 5, featuring art by the Do Lab. Sounds like a mini-Coachella! If anyone interested wouldn't mind signing up for presale with my referral link, I'd appreciate it:

The Cure’s Robert Smith called into the SiriusXM program “Debatable” on Friday to announce that he is curating a festival in the Los Angeles area later this year that will feature performances by The Cure and ten other bands. Smith also curated last year’s Meltdown festival in London.

CFG just announced dates. Will they be releasing their lineup way earlier this year? Or did they do this around the same time last year?
about the same time. Definitely in for this again. Last year was awesome. Only way they top KSG is Frank Ocean. Lineup probably in August again along with public sale.

It appears to be a blackhole of entertainment!
Soda Bar is a small venue to keep an eye on for shows, too, if you haven't looked there yet. Their calendar tends to fill in as time goes on.

Trying to figure out whether to use the "ticket request program" or go with the Thursday presale for Danger Mouse/Karen O at Theatre at the Ace. I am sure I'll get what I want since I am only going for a single on the floor, but it would be nice to know the difference in the pools of available tickets between the two.

Jealous of this every year! Wish I lived on the other side of the country. Who's the blocked out name? I'm wishing it's Frank followed by a new album and/or tour dates, but probably just hopeful thinking.

Been meaning to update this, 2022 festivals up in the OP. For me:
This Aint No Picnic (tentatively in) Primavera LA (maybe) Desert Daze (Oh yeah)
Also have tickets to: - Dead & Co @ Dodger Stadium - Fleet Foxes in San Diego for the $25 deal - Considering Steely Dan w/ Snarky Puppy for the $25 deal - Rodger Waters @ Staples Center (pre-pandemic tickets)
Someone tell me about the Kia Forum and the area around it? Dump? Safe? Avoid staying close? etc.
I haven’t spent much time in Inglewood but I saw a show there. The arena is really nice, great sound. I think it’s owned by the same guy that owns MSG and it was build specifically for concerts, not sporting events. I street parked in a surrounding neighborhood and felt safe. It’s a typical LA suburb around that area in my opinion.

it used to be named the Great Western Forum and it's pretty old but was recently renovated with an ear towards concerts but like most arenas the sound probably isn't that great although I haven't been since the upgrades. the immediate area is fine, but the more you get away from it the less fine it potentially is. it's basically Inglewood which has good areas and bad areas.
