I'm really curious to see what we might get in terms of outdoor shows this summer. Indoor dates are cool, and all, but I feel like making one my first show back is going to be a bit like jumping right into the deep end, and I'm not sure I'm ready for that after the past year.
Has there been any word on anything happening at the Prospect Park bandshell, at all?
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
UPCOMING SHOWS 5/14 - Neil Young & Crazy Horse @ Forest Hills 6/8 and maybe 6/9 - Governors Ball 8/17 - King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard @ Forest Hills 9/4 - Pearl Jam @ MSG 9/7 - Pearl Jam @ Wells Fargo Center 9/11 - St. Vincent @ Brooklyn Paramount
LCD's recent post made it sound like as soon as they can play shows again they will, I will be at the first NYC date they play, can't wait to see you guys

Thanks, just requested my refund! Bummed this isn't happening this year, bummed that I'm gonna have to figure out my ticket situation next summer, but happy to have $300 back in my pocket.
This is slightly perplexing to me to take this step now given the recent announcements but maybe the larger package tours are being conservative to avoid a potential logistical nightmare in 2 months.

Although the NYC dates are in August, the tour was starting in June, and that's a bit too soon for packed arena shows. So they probably opted to just reschedule the whole thing rather than stretching it out in most likely two segments.
5/1 Belle & Sebastian 5/17 Echo & the Bunnymen 6/7 Hozier 6/8 Governors Ball 6/20 Future Islands 6/27 Silversun Pickups 7/25 Billy Joel 8/5 Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins, etc. 8/21 The Gaslight Anthem 9/7 Bikini Kill 9/10 St. Vincent 9/13 The National, TWOD, Lucius 9/14 PULP 9/27 IDLES/The Walkmen 10/3 Brittany Howard/Michael Kiwanuka 10/4 Bleachers 10/6 Vampire Weekend 10/9 Sting

Makes sense. Fingers crossed the Green Day/Fall Out Boy/Weezer show still happens although that is looking VERY iffy at this point even with the vaccination increases.
Waxahatchee playing White Eagle Hall, Webster Hall and 2x at Elsehwere in October.
Both elsewhere shows already sold out. Damn.
I actually chose WH but wow, surprising those went first. Probably due to more BK residents being into her. I like in BK as well but figured since I'd likely be in the office in Manhattan WH would be easiest to shoot down to but who knows at this point.

The My Chemical Romance tour got postponed again another year
With MCR and RATM getting postponed I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before all the arena/stadium shows scheduled for August and September get axed.

Which ones are you thinking of? I bet the Tame Impala tour will still happen, given that they've booked festivals alongside the arena dates.

I'm mainly thinking of that Green Day/Weezer/Fall Out Boy show at Citi Field, but also Guns N Roses and Lady Gaga at Metlife are sure to get postponed again.
I have to imagine if indoor arena shows of 15k are postponed, I don't see NY/NJ allowing stadiums of 80k people to happen in a mere 3 months. I'm starting to think some of these fall tours are jumping the gun a bit. I understand our vaccination rate is going well but I imagine government officials are going to set certain benchmarks around cases/deaths that we need to meet before allowing these types of gatherings. My worry is that, as a country, everyone who pro-actively wants to get vaccinated will but then we'll stall out around 50-55% and that will be the battle. I really hope I'm wrong but that's the inclination I get.

Transmission outside is astronomically low compared to indoors. Its comparing apples to steak.
What is SURE to be big news for the types that post on this board, Machine Gun Kelly will be playing Central Park Summerstage on 9/13 with JXDC and KennyHoopla. On the other side of the spectrum, anyone who was looking forward to seeing Matchbox Twenty this summer at Jones Beach or PNC will need to wait until 2022.

I'm weird and was hoping to go to both Matchbox 20 AND MGK.
Think I'll snag an MGK ticket on the presale Wednesday if prices are decent. I'm desperate for some live music.
I'd love to be wrong, but I get the feeling there won't be any Jones Beach/MSG/Barclays/Metlife shows this year.
In for the Japanese Breakfast show at Brooklyn Steel, first new show and ticket buy since the madness started, feels good to get back out there. Still hate AXS though.
