Bob Dylan and Nathaniel Rateliff at Forest Hills on 7/8 Jimmy Eat World and The Front Bottoms at Pier 17 on 8/11
I’m frustrated because I couldn’t make the Jimmy date at Starland Ballroom and now this will likely be a shorter set plus The Front Bottoms are kinda mediocre but....will still be cool.

I was debating going to Billie Eilish at MSG on Sunday but with the coronavirus craze, I'm now curious as to if the show will even go in particularly in light of the past...oh...hour with the NBA cancellation and what not.

When does this start getting mandated? Just purchased a ticket for something on Sun.
Tomorrow at 5 PM.
Ah and just after I got a Billie Eilish ticket. Makes sense though, probably not the best idea to have an arena full of people drinking/eating with this going on.
The Knockdown Center has postponed all events through April 1st. Despacio is on the 2nd. Remaining hopeful.
I hate so much to say this, but I would start preparing yourself for the worst w/r/t Despacio. I was on here a couple weeks ago lamenting how I'd jump off a bridge if it got shitcanned, but times have changed, and it's exactly the kind of environment we're all supposed to be avoiding right now.

At the Beacon, they've begun cancelling and postponing our shows. When speaking with some folks higher up the food chain, their belief was that we are likely not opening doors again until at least the 12th of April. Wish all your friends in the live event industry luck as they try to figure how to make money while all shows are cancelled. Best of luck to everyone in dealing with these hard times.

Interesting that some acts, like Tegan and Sara, postponed the onsales for their summer tours until there's a clearer picture of how this all plays out. But some acts are going forward with announcing tours and tickets going on sale. Lady Gaga's Metlife show went on presale today, interested to see how it's doing.
Sounds like affected tours/shows are starting to make official whether canceled or postponed - of my next two, Keane has canceled and Thom Yorke has postponed, so I should be getting the Keane $ back soon.

April 12th seems way too optimistic at this point. I’m anticipating live events not beginning again until at least mid May.

That's cool, I was just letting you know what the AGM of a major theatre in the city said about when he thought we would come back because I am 1000000000% sure that he has a better idea of what is going on with the theatre than you or myself. We had a long conversation about how he was gauging that original guess and I'm sure he has adjusted his expectations accordingly, just as you have. But, I'll just keep it to myself next time.
But, yeah, sure, now the cdc has recommended nothing over 50 people for 8 weeks, so there's that.

Understandable and I didn't mean to come off as dick-ish, but it just seems given the amount of precautions we're taking now and how this virus works, 4/12 is fairly soon. I actually HOPE he's right since I want everyone to get back to their normal lives and people in the hospitality/entertainment industry to not suffer but it just seems very amibtious at this point. My gut feeling is that it will likely be mid-June we start seeing everything ramp up again which means that this fall will be STACKED with shows, not only the normal weight but with all the rescheduled tours.

He had told me this the first day things started looking poorly for companies and things have intensified increasingly quickly since then. So, I am sure all done til about mid may (just because thats two months from when they originally started discussing shutting down businesses and whatnot.)
So.....how's everyone's quarantine life? Being cooped up here is much more difficult than other places due to our small apartment sizes (unless you're super lucky). I've been passing time getting into Trailer Park Boys and listening to music if anyone wants to follow along:

I feel ya. My apartment is super tiny and I live alone. It's been a weird and lonely two weeks! Been killing time recording my own music, binging Tiger King & It's Always Sunny & Ramy, and discovering a whole lot of music. I don't know how I let 11 years go by without listening to that Person L album, it's so good! I could listen to these two songs on repeat for hours:
I've actually never used last fm before, I dont really understand what it does.....does it compile stream counts from spotify and puts it on your profile?
Hope everyone is hanging in there and healthy! I've been catching up with some streaming and caught a couple of live streams... Think I will really start missing shows round about June I think. Anyway, just got an email that Thom Yorke rescheduled the Hammerstein Ballroom date for October 4...I hope it will be, I know there are some educated (some un- as well) opinions that there will be no shows until later in 2021, but I am keeping optimistic.
My first not postponed show is Alanis/Garbage/Liz Phair at Jones Beach on June 26...I do expect that to be canceled. I am keeping hopeful that my first show after this will be the RATM one although that it's at the Garden makes it extremely tentative...
EDIT: Also just got a reschedule date for Inhaler at Bowery Ballroom - September 9. <fingers crossed>
