Ooh, I've been waiting for a good NYE show for a while. I was kind of hoping LCD Soundsystem might do it this year after they played NYE on the west coast last year.
11/28 Raveonettes (Copenhagen, Denmark) 12/4 Interpol 12/14 LCD Soundsystem 12/31 Billy Joel 1/25 The Killers (Las Vegas) 2/12 Jack White 2/25 Father John Misty 3/6 Inhaler 4/10 Franz Ferdinand 4/17 Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 5/15 Amyl & the Sniffers 5/18 Fontaines D.C. 9/1 Oasis
I think those MM/Interpol shows will sell out but probably not be heavily in demand. It'll all be made up of late 30's/early 40's people who experienced those records at a seminal time but there probably won't be a lot of people looking to go last minute. (DISCLAIMER: I was 20 when both those records came out and while I really like them both, I saw both in their era so sitting these shows out).

Another body was found in Newton Creek, and the guy was last seen at the Knockdown Center. This happened to two men last year who were leaving Mirage. Be careful out there, folks.
The Owl just leaked that Oasis will play NYC next August 30th & 31st
If the rumors are true, they're playing MetLife, which...seems a stretch? Especially considering they're also playing Boston. Do enough people in this area care about Oasis in 2024 to fill a football stadium twice over?

Good openers + people travelling in from DC, Philly, etc., I think they’ll get pretty close.

Even with good openers it seems a major stretch, especially two nights. Dunno why they didn't go with baseball stadiums instead.

Oasis were selling out MSG before they broke up. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. They're only doing a handful of US shows. And there are plenty of expats in the tri state area.
Night one will sell out instantly. Night two will probably be a cheap ticket week of.

This is the Gallagher brothers we're talking about. They tried to step into arenas in the US in the 90's and, outside of major markets, struggled. Their 2008 show at MSG was even a soft show ticket-sales wise but I imagine there are enough British ex-pasts/anglophiles in the NYC area coupled with a new generation who missed them the first time around to do one night. I agree that two nights sounds like a stretch unless they have significant support like The Strokes, Jack White, etc

They're actually playing the Windjammer. I choose to believe everything I see on instagram.

I am absolutely thrilled. The question is, how many of these will I attend? And how pissed will my family be when I peace out immediately the day after Thanksgiving to be back for the Friday show?
Y'all think we're getting an LCD residency again this December?
I really hope so. I look forward to that more than actual Christmas.
As of right now, the last 2024 show on Brooklyn Steel's calendar is December 13. Same with T5. Knockdown Center has nothing on their calendar after November 29. So, the openings are certainly there - maybe not for a 20-show run, or anything, but for *something*.
On the other hand, they've also played out a lot more this year than in past years, so I could see them taking the end of the year off, too.
Fingers crossed. The announcement usually comes at the end of September.

Feel like they also would be a great fit for a stint at BK Paramount but not sure they'd be open to using Live Nation vs Bowery Presents

I think they’re pretty wedded to Bowery Presents since it’s owned by AEG and LCD are practically the AEG house band

We got some good deep cuts tonight at Pearl Jam y'all. Finally got to hear "Satan's Bed" live. I imagine those of you going tomorrow night will still get a better show (Eddie announced tomorrow night would be their 50th show playing NYC which....seems a bit inflated but I could be wrong). That being said, was cool to hear some songs not usually played also including Love Boat Captain, Inside Job, Out Of My Mind, etc.

The MSG banner they're selling at the shows only have seven years on it starting in 1998 and they've played Barclays twice, so average two shows per run, so 18-20 shows. Which would mean 30ish shows pre-1998...seems like a stretch although a quick count of 1991 yields 5 or 6 NYC shows. So maybe Eddie's not embellishing, lol. Looking forward to going tonight, especially at home, I had to go out of town for them the last couple of times.

I kind of wish he hadn't said that - I'm trying to upgrade my seats, and I have a certain threshold over which I'm not willing to pay, and I wonder if that'll inflate things a bit.
Still hyped, though. How'd the new material sound live?

Yeah, I imagine he's probably counting NJ/LI as well but it's probably close.

Prices have been insane and I had no ticket until last week when a great seat in Sec 118 (117 starts in the seat next to me) dropped down to a level I was willing to pay (basically what U2 was charging for standard price in that section last time they were there). Never having been in Ten Club (I tried, long story) it is the best seat I have ever had for them!

Great setlist and show from Pearl Jam last night! Some gems in there, and they did play up the 50th NYC show aspect. Anyway, I like it when they rock more than jam. Steve Van Zandt joined in on Rockin' in the Free World.
Also, Neil Young at Capitol Theater in Portchester 9/23 and 24.
