exactly like move to greenwich ct or something if youre gonna bitch about a city being a city
I have a couple friends with families who live in FH, but all of them are artists who moved to the city after college. The real FH "mafia" are the old timers and people who have never left that part of Queens their entire lives. There is a very racist, elitist stronghold in that neighborhood that is very conservative. A lot the residents feel as if they've bought the right to have a suburb in NYC, and hate when there are transient visitors.
I'm really happy that BK Paramount has so much traction. Anecdotal of course, but everyone I've spoken with who's been loves the venue. It's nice and wide, good bar/bathroom setup and everyone can see the stage.
I’m glad to hear the BK Paramount love, i just moved into my new place about a 3 minute walk away. Probably gonna pop my cherry with Bikini Kill in a few weeks.

You might be a neighbor since I live only 3 minutes away too. Although, I might be moving to one of the buildings behind Barclays Center soon so that will be 15 minute walk.
I saw Belle & Sebastian there in May but have four shows there, starting with Bikini Kill, in the fall.

Crown Heights is the new Bushwick if you get sick of adult Brooklyn
I'm thinking of getting a last min ticket to St Vincent day of to finally see the Paramount in all its standing-room glory.

Did anyone get Sunday Robin Pecknold tickets? By the time I logged on it wasn't giving me a presale option for that day, but Monday was and still is no problem.

I haven’t seen a Duo show but I’ve heard it’s definitely worth it. Don’t skip Mabe Fratti, either. She’s the whole reason I’m trying to make this happen.

Can anyone going to the King Gizz show tonight report back tomorrow and let me know what time Geese goes so I know for Saturday? Thanks! I assume it’s the DJ first at 5:30 then Geese but maybe not.

I have been there now a few times this year with different friend groups and every time it has been a very positive experience. I am used to most of my friends having problems with any show, but so far no bad experiences there.
Also for me personally I enjoy the variety of acts they book every time I have gone has been to see a different genre of music.
