Dave Chappelle and the Roots performed together 8/1/17 and have an upcoming date scheduled for 6/2/17. They meet the touring/live performance requirements.
It is disputed that they are considered an act and should instead be considered two separate acts performing as a 'superjam.'

and? He's also doing another fest with The Roots. Had done sets with them before that Residency as well. It obviously isn't a one off, so what rule is it breaking?

I think this one is fine. Done it before. Doing it again and at a festival no less. I was leaning the other way on this since it's the Roots festival, but I didn't realize that Usher + Roots played another fest. So it seems perfectly reasonable to me that this could show up on another lineup.

I still don’t see how just The Roots picnic isn’t enough. There’s no definitive reason to think it’s a one off.
It just seems like a jam session, much like a Bonnaroo superjam. That’s just my take on what it is.
but has a Bonnaroo superjam ever happened anywhere other than bonnaroo? no. Has Dave Chappellle + The Roots happened at places other than Roots picnic? Yes. And there is reason to think it will happen elsewhere as well.

They were billed as “Dave Chappelle and The Roots”, and Lil Wayne was billed serperately as the opener.
“One of many treats during the night was when Chappelle, Doug E. Fresh, Usher, T.I., and Black Thought from The Roots performed Doug E. and Slick Rick’s “La Di Da Di.”
Chappelle is on stage with the Roots performing. There’s quite a few articles that suggest it was a joint performance. Out of the 13 night residency Chappelle had The Roots play 4 nights with every other artist getting 1. They played together at Dave’s block party and are billed together at The Roots Picnic this year.. How is this up for debate?
