Looking at these FAs just makes me realize i don't regularly listen to a diverse enough range of music to make a mass appealing line up. i've seen a lot from both lists, but I would've never thought of some of them on my own.
with that, i'm low key happy to see so much stuff from my teen days on your line up mardude... Pennywise, The Offspring, Bad Religion, NOFX, New Found Glory, Say Anything... kinda surprised there's no Brand New to round it out. Shit, Blink would've fit in nicely too! lol
edit: less serious about Blink, bc without Tom they're not Blink. But I do have a Blink tattoo, so I'm by no means shitting on you. I legit love that you thought of those bands, it's a nice throw back feeling. I'd see all those bands- depending on conflicts.

Yeah with the warped tour having it’s last year this summer I wanted something with all those bands since they couldn’t even get together anything remotely appealing for their last hurrah

Yeah I’m a huge fan of their music but I just couldn’t see anyone voting for my lineup if I put them there for good reason too so yeah, that’s why they were left out

I share eight with Katy and six with Mardude. I had Say Anything on mine but they got left off when I was copying names. =/ Oh well. During their last tour they played ...Is a Real Boy and Say Anything, so you probably have the option of making those novelty sets if you so desire.

Yeah I actually thought about an ...is a real boy set but I already have two and honestly didn’t think that would sway any votes around here. Maybe I was wrong though

lol you were probably right, though I love that album

In doing a last pass on my list I discovered one of my acts was arrested for sexual assault in the last year so Mystikal will not be appearing despite his kick-ass song with Mark Ronson.

My husband heard my list and said, “you’re old.” Oh well, I can live with that.
I want to highlight so many of these bands, but I don’t want to post so much that it becomes a jumble, so I’m going to try to limit this to a few. Also, I’m not really very good at describing bands, so please excuse my terrible efforts here. I’ll mostly stick to videos. Also also, I’m at work right now, and I’m doing this on my phone, so I can’t really test the video quality. Hopefully, they’ll mostly be decent. Anyway, here goes.
Slim Cessna’s Auto Club is kind of old-school country punk. They have a ton of fantastic work that I absolutely love. This is their first song I ever heard:
This is my husband’s favorite SCAC song (mine is Kristen and Billy, which is apparently not on YouTube):
Electric Six, to me, is just good old-fashioned fun-ass rock music. Wikipedia says they’ve been described as “garage, disco, punk rock, new wave, and metal.” I’ve never heard anything of theirs that I’d describe as metal, but whatever. I think some folks think of them as a novelty band, but those folks are dumb. I saw Electric Six twice in Atlanta and those were a couple of the most fun nights I’ve experienced.
If you only watch one video I’m posting, watch this one (it is actually a fan made video; words can’t describe how much I love it):
It’s so hard to narrow down what else of theirs to post.
Har Mar Superstar is a little bit pop and a little bit soul in a Ron Jeremy-type body. Just a ton of fun, really.
Okay, I’m going to break this into a couple of messages because I almost just lost everything I’d done so far, and I’d cry if that happened at this point.
Birdcloud is a duo from Murfreesboro, TN. They have merch with the slogan, “not for everyone” and that’s probably fair. If you haven’t noticed by now, I enjoy some music with a sense of humor (not musical comedy, just music that has humor in it, if that means anything). Anyway, these videos are NSFW, which is probably obvious by the names, but I figured it could help to say it anyway.
Do people know about That 1 Guy? He’s one of those acts that I really never put on at home or in the car, but if he’s playing near me, I’m all in. He’s really just amazing to watch and puts on a super fun show, and I cannot say enough times that if you ever get the chance to see him live, you will not regret doing so.
We listen to The New Mastersounds a lot at my house. I don’t know what to say about them except, again, if you ever have a chance to go see them, I highly recommend going. They are mostly instrumental, and I don’t really know their songs by name, but this one is the husband’s favorite:
I’m assuming people are familiar with the Squirrel Nut Zippers, but maybe I really am old. I think I was 17 the first time I heard this song.
Beth Orton is one of the first acts I remember seeing at Bonnaroo 14 years ago. Here’s one of her songs.
