The chorus of the second song in Rufus Du Sol's new one repeats the phrase "I see myself in your eyes", and my brain is choosing to hear "ass" instead of "eyes". It really spices it up.

It's all Windhand for me this month. Patiently waiting for that new Heather Leigh this Friday, though. It's the only thing I think can knock them outta rotation.
Julia Holter's new album is wildly ambitious and challenging, but after a few listens it's probably going to end up being my AOTM. Mr Twin Sister's new album that just dropped is great too and groovy as hell.

I didn’t realize that Twin Sister came out, loved the singles

I'm assuming Julia Holter's album leaked somewhere since it comes out tomorrow? I love her past work and I've definitely been looking forward to this one.
My current top pick is Empress Of with St. Vincent not too far behind. I'm about to listen to Kurt Vile for the first time and I have high hopes. Very much looking forward to the full Thom Yorke soundtrack album (loving all the "singles") and of course Julia, as well.

I'm not sure if it's leaked yet, but I got my preorder in the mail yesterday. If you're down with the longer tracks on Ekstasis and Have You In My Wilderness, you'll probably dig the new album but man it's about as far from traditional pop as she's ever gotten

That sounds right up my alley. I just saw that it has a 90 minute run time! Going to be an experience, one way or the other. Thom's album clocks in at 80 minutes. I'm not sure I'll be able to find the time to listen to both tomorrow since I'll be off work and doing errands, but we will see what happens.
I'm working my way through Julia's album "Aviary" now. I thought you were crazy when you said it would be her least poppy/most experimental album to date because all of her albums are avant garde and a little crazy. This thing is another level and it's gorgeous! Such a dense, mystical journey so far..
It sounds like if Julia Holter made a Jenny Hval album, and I couldn't be happier about that.
