I'm pissed that Phoenix and FJM don't have any DC/Baltimore area dates. I hope that changes. I know FJM is playing opening at the Merriweather 50th anniversary show, but he's gotta do a headlining gig or 2 somewhere else in the area.
Same! I'm dying to see FJM. If I.M.P can get him to come out to Maryland out of the tour schedule to perform at a anniversary concert then I'm sure they can get him to add a show on his tour, probably after the West Coast dates in October. Maybe they are waiting to announce a FJM show till after the anniversary show?
Yea I'm hoping there is a show booked and they're just waiting until after the MPP 50th show to announce, or at least until a certain date so they can capitalize on ticket sales from people like us. I'd go to the MPP thing, but I'd rather see more than 45 minutes of FJM, and rather not sit through Willie Nelson talking his way through all of his songs.
Yea not sure how well these lineups look over time but in the moment they were able to pull some big names. It's fun going back and looking at the lineups, so many great memories from those times. Back when I crowd surfed haha feels like a lifetime ago, and things got pretty weird in that Buzz tent. Oh and camping out in a parking lot overnight for tickets...damn im old

Yea way too high of expectations for a DC festival. What was the last regularly good one? HFStival lineups from the late 90s/early 2000s?
Virgin Freefest had some great lineups, technically not D.C. tho.
Yea thats a good point, I had fun at both the Merriweather and Pimlico locations. Also in Baltimore the old Starscape Festivals were a good time watching the sunrise up over the water with music still going
1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/4: knock2 3/7: Inhaler* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Someone brought up a good point that Anthem might be giving Echostage a run for their money with the Zedd booking. Im a uhall/flash guy so it doesnt really affect me but certainly interesting that Echostage might be in trouble

It doesn't help that Echostage is in the hood and The Anthem appears to be a good location.

If you would have told me 5 years ago that the Southwest Waterfront wouldnt be considered "the hood"....

Speaking as a non-resident here. That said, I've been to your great city many times and have family living there. And we weren't impressed the one time we visited Echostage five years ago.

It's just the mega venue to see big name EDM DJ's. There's much better venues like U Street Music Hall, Flash and Ten Tigers Parlour to see people spin at imo. We also have some dope warehouse parties you should check out the next time you're in town.

Those HFStivals were great back in the day. I was there from 1990-1998. Some of those early years had some real gems - and there weren't too many ways to see so much music at one place/time in the early 90s. We also had a run of a couple Lollapaloozas in the early 90s at Lake Fairfax. Virgin Fest was pretty cool for a few years. Landmark had promise, too bad it was a one and done. For a first year festival it wasn't bad.
If anyone is interested, I have a line on some 3 day passes for $100. HMU.
I'm extremely curious about how this is selling. I really think they completely missed the mark with going to 3 days with a line-up this thin. The fact that they're offering "Buy 3, Get 1 free" now that prices were arbitrarily increased a few days ago seems to play into that theory.
Damn shame too, as the death of Landmark, Sweetlife and Trillectro left a real opening for a decent festival in DC proper.

Yeah, definitely seems to be selling slow. I heard that this thing is likely underwritten by neighborhood developers so the breakeven point could be pretty low, but don't know if that's true.
