All of those people who weren't pumped when the Getter clue dropped must be freaking out now that they know NGHTMRE will be on the farm....
I don't even understand this festival. If this is a sign of the quality to come, they're screwed. They need to convince about 30,000 people who passed on Roo last year to come back, or get 30,000 new people to go out to the middle of nowhere Tennessee, and you're gonna book a DJ who's probably played in every single city in the United States by March 2017?????

The only consolation right now is that almost all of the responses on twitter and facebook so far are negative. But even if either this or Getter were good, at least give us some variety with these clues. This seems to suggest that half the lineup will just be godawful EDM.

In fairness, the clues have never yielded anything too exciting, especially the early ones.

At this point, I'm assuming the lineup is booked. I'm not inspired by negative reactions, because it just shows that the organizers were seemingly totally out of touch with their customer base again this year - hopefully it's not an entire lineup issue, and just who they've chosen to market via clues.
I just feel like it's gonna come down to the same issue as last year - two headliners (RHCP and U2) that appeal to an older crowd, and an undercard that's catered toward 19 year olds.

I just meant at least if they deliver a really shitty lineup, even with those headliners, the festival still might suffer another blow. I'm of the mindset that if they can't wrap their heads around what they're doing wrong then this festival should be brought out behind the shed and put out of its misery

Ah, I see, yeah I totally agree. It's just so strange seeing a trendsetter for what has become a huge part of the music industry in the last five years fall apart. Maybe the location is just too tough to book for these days.

They aren't willing to pay the big bucks to stay competitive. I thought the Livenation deal was supposed to free up money for the lineup (by shifting land improvements to a general fund for the property to spread across all events to be held in the future), not make it a drought of talent.

These EDM acts probably aren't much cheaper than the acts we're asking for. Probably more expensive in some cases. My theory is that Superfly started hiring a booking staff who think this is the path it needs to take to stay relevant but who have never been to Bonnaroo and only have a loose grasp of its history
