Alright if you wanna get specific I'll play. While Getter's music may be generic in the sense that all Trap and Dubstep is generic, you can hear songs that he produced being played at almost any festival involving EDM in the past couple years. If you don't even know who "this Getter guy is" than I already know that you have no concept of the genre of music that he's involved with. He's 23 and Skrillex is 27 so I don't know how that really correlates, but I can respect any 23 year old who can create music he/she likes and amass enough of a following to tour world-wide.
Calling you out on that second sentence.
I guarantee you that isn't true. Also, not all trap and dubstep is generic. You're also making a facetious argument that not knowing a pretty inconsequential DJ undermines anyone's argument that he sucks, which isn't true at all.
This dude's live sets are the equivalent of any random local club DJ these days that caters towards white kids.
Ok then prove me wrong if you're so adamant.
I also doubt you've heard of the rapper named Pouya, who's beats are almost exclusively produced by Getter. Thats some ghetto shit. He is almost more heavily involved in underground rap than trap/dub. Which makes it hilarious how you assume his music caters to white kids? I don't get how you can so easily criticize something you clearly know very little about.

you mean besides his garbage music? I've never listened to him, but the fact that our resident Dillon Francis/Kygo/Jauz super fan is getting so defensive of him makes me feel pretty good about not checking him out.

Save your ears and your brain - don't check it out. I'd bet $1000 you'd dislike it even more than me.
10 outta 10 times, would rather listen to Ross's keyboarding than Getter.
Plus Ross has such stage presence.
I could've used your support when I was getting dismissed for enjoying Friends more than Seinfeld.
Lol I've given up on trying to fight that stance on this board - we are very outnumbered. But, Friends 4 Lyfe; never watched much of Seinfield honestly.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Most of the time the Roo clues are people I either don't like or have never heard of. This isn't the end guys. It's all okay.
This is what I have been thinking too. I rarely know any of the clue bands and typically don't even like them after listening. There are so many acts at roo and so many different genres. It is crazy how much people freak out when there are some acts they really don't like. There is usually a few that I completely hate, but I just don't see them.

Wow, this is an even bigger dumpster fire than at any point the Headliner thread was this year. Getter is total trash, but I'm glad some of you guys like him so that I don't have to worry about bumping into you at another act while he is playing over at the Other Tent.
I feel like Roo is becoming the boyfriend/husband in a failing relationship that doesn't understand why their girlfriend/wife just doesn't love them anymore. He's lost his spontaneity and thinks that just by being himself he deserves that love, and just gets angry when his girl starts to cheat on him with other festivals that actually try to inspire her.
He doesn't put any effort into their relationship and forgot how to be the festival he was when they first met. This only ends with crippling alcoholism.

i've actually followed getter and nick colletti (the other suh dude guy) on social media for a while now. As far as i remember Nick Colletti was actually a pretty funny Viner and was good friends with Getter and kind of brought him up. They're funny guys imo but ya Getters music is trash. He'll definitely be in the lower half of the lineup though.
Bonnaroo '15/'16/'17/'18/'19 - ACL '13/'14/'15/'17/'18 - Fun Fun Fun '14 - SXSW '13/'14/'15 - FPSF '16
2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers
Not really going to get bent out of shape about an electronic name that will be billed at the bottom quarter of the lineup. Come on guys you're better than this.
