Didn’t realize he had lost that much weight, he was performing up until December too, full shows.
Toby was one of my family’s favorite artists when we moved to the US. It was super different than anything you would ever hear in the UK. Super catchy, funny, way too patriotic. A Little Too Late was always my favorite and had a great music video too.
I know a lot of people associate him as a super right wing guy but he was actually pretty centrist and was a big supporter of the troops because his dad was military. His debut didn’t come out until his 30s or something so he has a pretty good story to his career too.
Yeah I made the mistake of saying that joke to a group text with old high school friends. It went silent. I forget that all of them actually like Toby Keith. So I went back and looked over his full discography and he had a lot more hit songs than I remember (because I don't actively listen to country music).

Surprised nobody has posted this yet. Mojo Nixon died yesterday while on the Outlaw Country Cruise. The only one of his albums I ever really listened to was the one he did with Jello Biafra, A Prarie Home Invasion. I love that album so much, though, and it made me pretty sad to hear that he’s gone.

It hit me pretty hard, honestly. I have some friends on the boat and said the mood was super sad.
I haven’t listened to Mojo in years but had some buddies that used to mow his Moms yard at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia, for years. They said the few times they met him he was the nicest dude you’ll ever meet. Coming from these guys, who were the nicest guys I’ve ever met, it told me a lot.

larry david quote on Lewis's death '"Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he’s been like a brother to me," David said. "He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that I’ll never forgive him."'
