I may be in the minority here, but I thought the waterfall is kinda meh and was sorta of an antiimactic ending to the weekend.
I really love the album but it's definitely tough to follow a night where they play their two best albums back to back. I wasn't there though, so who am I to comment
I dunno, I think closing out the main set with Only Memories Remain would be pretty amazing, but I also thought the Waterfall was a great record.
I may be reading into this too much, but the fact that they played their studio album discography and said they won't be touring this year makes me worried they could go on hiatus or even disband. I hope I'm wrong and they come back in 2019 with a new album, but if anyone knows something more I'd love to hear it

My Morning Jacket is mostly taking 2018 of from playing live. Is it time to get back into the studio?
We’re still trying to figure out our schedules. And also just trying to take some time off for regrouping and personal stuff. Any ideas or desires you’d want for that next album?
I’m not sure. We got a couple things in the can, like the second album from when we did The Waterfall may be released if we can get that finished. We also got a live record in the can that we’re excited about. So there’s a couple things that I’m trying to get finished that could hopefully come out next year.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

One big thing the wife and I noticed was that all the sets were missing this sort of "fun-ness" of previous years OBH shows. In years past Jim was very talkative, throwing out random anecdotes, throwing bananas into the crowd, acting goofy and mugging it up. Plus guests coming out and random bust-outs of covers and stuff. With the albums straight through like we got this year, obviously you miss a lot of the spontaneity of more random setlists and the idea of the unexepected. After the first night, the only real surprise (albeit quacking awesome) was a full Cobra encore after Z. I'm not really knocking the album thing, because there are songs I would probably never hear otherwise, but there was an element where it felt more about getting down to business than having fun. Purely a personal observation, but it also seemed like the crowd during the waterfall was getting thinner and thinner as the night went on. Granted, they had been playing for over 3.5 hours, people were exhausted, and late night shows were starting, but I think the Waterfall sucked a lot of enthusiasm out of the non die-hards.

I read it as more of a see you soon then a nice to know ya. I was honestly not expecting a OBH5 this year so the news isn't surprising to say the least.

We are staying the sunrise section of moon palace. Basically stage left with an ocean view. So happy. Jacket brought out trey tonight for the encore of rocket man, can’t you hear me knockin, and maghettah. So far 10/10

If you aren't busy at 2pm today (Thurday), stop by your Sunrise Pool. A bunch of my nearest and dearest will be there for a little surprise "Love Shower". Two of my friends, Alex and Rebecca are getting married in June and her wedding shower has fallen through so far, so Alex has asked the One Big Family folks to meet at the Sunrise Pool for a love shower to cheer her up. If you need people to hang out with for the rest of the fest, look no further. These are some fine folks. If you can get ahold of Alex, tell him Angie sent you and stick around. Alex and Rebecca and Scott and Sarah are two of my favorite couples in all of the land. They will all be together this weekend. But anyone you meet at that get together by the pool will be awesome.

Also be on the lookout for "treasure maps". The Furthur folks left us maps around the Hard Rock resort the first year of OBH indicating where they hid their left over "party favors". I'm sure the Phish pham may have done the same?
