I love that he chose to retire as a raven. Smitty epitomized underdog football for the panthers through my entire nfl-conscious life up until they walked him out. He had a fire that is rare today, I look forward to seeing who gives him a microphone next.
Haha. You know I would love it but I think if the Giants make it back to the SB Pats will finally vanquish their nemesis. But your score is too high. They're both really good defensive teams. Pats 23 - Giants 17
I was never a Carolina or Baltimore fan (Browns - we HATE the Ravens/Ex-Browns) but I had a little man crush on Steve Smith. There's just something about the guys who always show up and kick ass, and aren't afraid to talk trash because they know they can back it up. I'm not even a big trash talk guy, I just like how he played the game, like he always had something to prove. Trash talk can certainly make people look stupid, and nobody likes a sore loser, but I always felt Smtih was just ultra-competitive, really enjoyed winning, and used his natural talent for pissing people off to his advantage. He sure was fun to watch, and I think we'll be seeing him just down the road from here in Canton in few years.

He was a lot of fun and an above average player but does he really have the numbers for the HoF? Terrell Owens didn't even get in his first try and is guaranteed nothing.

I don't know what will happen, but I'd put them both in, if it were up to me. Their stats are pretty similar, too, except TO had way more TDs. Each was one of the most effective and consistent receivers of his generation. Both had a ton of yards, 1000+ catches, and a lot of 1000+ yd seasons, which is good enough in my book.*

2011: Giants win, go on to win Super Bowl 2007: Giants win, go on to win Super Bowl
The Giants and Packers played five NFL championship games before the merger, so the winner of the seven postseason matches has won the title every time.
