It was one that I didn't see coming, that's for sure. Then again, maybe MNF was the same for others.
The big thing with MNF for me is that it's a live sporting event, COPS is a reality tv show. The various news and weather programs are also considered tv series by imdb which I think is weird.
MNF is a forum for a sporting event but it is also a highlight show and a cultural phenomenon.
It was the way that a lot of the nation found out about John Lennon's death, for example.
It's been around for forty-six years and is an institution.
It's been a showcase for some of the biggest sportscasters in the history of the game, such as Howard Cosell, Frank Gifford, Al Michaels... and Dennis Miller. :\
That said, I would have been fine with it not having been picked at all but if it was going (and I'm sure it would have) then I wanted it.

I don't even watch this show anymore and there are many shows still available that I would rank above it, but for some reason it's the only show I can think of that I would be disappointed if it didn't wind up on my list. Must be the nostalgia factor.

Say what you want about the last couple seasons, I agree they were pretty shitty and the ending left a lot to be desired. But the first 6 seasons were fucking amazing.

This would have probably gone first round if it stopped at like 4 seasons, great pick up.
I feel I may be jumping the gun a little with this pick considering it's only 12 episodes in, but I fucking love everything about it and honestly think it's got the potential to surpass Breaking Bad as my favorite show ever.
Definitely the nostalgia factor.
