I really think Pretty Lights has lost a lot of steam. Top EDM will probably be something more like Zedd, Jack U, Major Lazer, Skrillex
I kind of agree but his solo fest/tour thing he is doing makes me feel that he could certainly be the #1 EDM at the 4-6 range. Also, he is the one huge (reasonably possible) DJ that has been pretty scarce at festivals since 2013, which would add to his billing because he's more rare than nectar or skrilly-bear
Skrillex hasn't toured much as "skrillex" lately though has he? I didn't name Bassnectar since he was just at Bonnaroo.
As far as Future goes, he puts out like 12 albums a year but no he wont be top 3.
Clapton - Arcade Fire - Calvin Harris - Beck - Avett Bros - Chance The Rapper
I know you probably want him but considering the recent article, the fact he turned down Roo this year, and the fact that he had stopped doing shows a few years back you are going to have to count Clapton out. I know he's putting out another album but I think it's very unlikely he does another show, even if it is a one off. I personally would be thrilled by Clapton's final Performance. I just don't think it will happen.

Hmmmm, guess you're largely correct on him being tied up with Jack Ü and yeah, sorry, Bassnectar was just someone that came to mind.
I just ask about Future because I'm trying to think of a hip hop artist that could be #3 so that they could bill Sigur Rós at 4 or 5 and make my dreams come true (though I know they never will.)
Screw it, they should just bring Kendrick back and let him do whatever he wants:
Roger Waters - Arcade Fire - Kendrick - Sigur Rós = idgaf what the rest of the lineup is, haha
Clapton - Arcade Fire - Calvin Harris - Beck - Avett Bros - Chance The Rapper

He was just playing shows in April. If he doesn't play Bonnaroo I bet he'll play the next Old-Chella.
In your opinion would people prefer Chance or Future? I think most members of the board would prefer Chance. While most people would prefer Future. I personally say Chance.
Chance seems to be a bigger figure and personality in the greater music world. I don't follow much hip-hop news, and I'm a Chance fan so I'm a little biased, but to me Future seems like he's got hits, but is otherwise just kind of around, while Chance is a more formidable presence. And Chance seems to be the more raved about live show. So I think a lot of people would prefer him to Future. Could be wrong though.
Future had three albums debut at #1 in less than a year. DS2 and What A Time are both certified platinum. Coloring Book, easily Chance's biggest release, peaked at #8 on the Hot 200. There's not really a clean way to measure the two artists because of the way Chance has released most of his music but any way you look at it Future is a much bigger star.
For what it's worth I like Chance's music better but I think this board sleeps on just how popular Future is.

PL is getting billed below the likes of Flosstradamus and Kygo at festivals now. He'd be top 20-25, but not that high unless Bonnaroo is really desperate to overrate him.
I thought Future was garbage until I heard DS2. That album cast a spell on me.
Check out Beast Mode by him. It's produced by Zaytoven who I swear had to have grown up on like Isaac Hayes, Luther Vandross, Miles Davis type shit. His beats are so soulful and jazzy and the piano is amazing.

Noooo fucking way!! Are you serious?! Can I please see an example of PL billed under either of those two?

Hard Summer & Bumbershoot
I don't get that at all. Neither of those names belong above PL... Nonetheless, he is a Bonnaroo favorite, and I'd be shocked if he isn't the top EDM on the bill next year.

"I'd be shocked if he isn't the top EDM on the bill next year." - Everyone on this thread last year

He's also billed behind Kygo and Empire of the Sun at the Meadows (assuming he eventually ends up where that crossed out name is).
Let's hope Pretty Lights isn't on the lineup at all next year. It's bad enough that they keep returning to the Skrillex/Bassnectar/PL well, but even worse now that no one gives a shit about Pretty Lights anymore.

Nah I still think most people who go to Bonnaroo would want Chance, but both could easily get booked. One doesn't really cancel out the other. But Future wouldn't be number 4, he definitly couldn't do the J.Cole/Kendrick time slot. It's not like he has a live band or a big production.

Eh, Eavis is notoriously full of shit. If you read carefully, he doesn't say Fleetwood Mac asked for that much money, just that he couldn't get them to agree to the good guy discount Glastonbury usually gets for being a non-profit.

He says they can't afford to spend 4 to 5 million pounds on an act right after saying Fleetwood wanted too much money.

Exactly. That's Guns n Roses reunion money. There's no way they actually asked for that. He's just working the press with 2 truths and a lie like he always does. Couple months ago he was hinting at a Radiohead surprise set.
