Sticking with the movie title idea, Brian DePalma had a suspenseful movie (I've never seen it) called "Passion." I don't know if it is scary, or not. Trailer looks kinda cheesy.
But, Passion Pit would work.
IMDB considers it a thriller/drama so I suppose that's in play. At least it doesn't have part of the clue in it so it has that going for it.
Another crazy idea ... Flick (really Flik) was the primary ant character in A Bug's Life. A scary Flik might be an alien. When one dies, one "buys the farm."

"Doll Parts" is a 10 minute horror film released in 2011. Not so much a movie, but a flick. "Doll Parts" is also song by a band that answers the question of "Where is it buried."
Ladies & gentlemen, HOLE. There were hints of a reunion in 2015, so this is not completely unrealistic.
Courtney Love will also appear with Fallout Boy on the Which Stage and appear in a Super Jam late night.
I guess I deleted my earlier rocket from the crypt comment but since this thread is 100% throwing shit at the wall at this point anyways here it is again. Shoehorn the first half with rocky horror picture show and it's yet another unfortunate guess for the pile

Boom.
If this all happens, I will burn my horns and clock on the farm

Saw Miami Horror is playing Coachella. I would up the odds that they're the answer assuming they are on the festival circuit. (And I was just getting into APtBS too.)
It's Underworld. They're playing coachella. It's a movie (jury is out on scary) and you're also buried "under world."
Read in the headliner thread that Underworld is playing in Amsterdam at a fest during Roo (per juggs). Saw they have a UK date during Roo as well (per their website).
Otherwise, it might fit -- and trust me, I wish it would!

How about Fear Factory? A scary flick is horror and fear is a synonym for horror. Things/people can get buried under factories i.e. mafia witnesses or industrial chemicals. They released an album in August per Wikipedia
Edit: Other names based on synonyms of horror to consider:
Dreadzone Panic! At the Disco.
Don't know about tour dates on the above two as I just quickly googled synonyms and band names that have the synonyms.

s2 This is in response to you in the confirmation thread (this should never happen in that thread btw)
I think the "but where is it buried" = "a place to bury" is just a little to literal.
I mean imagine this conversation
Person 1: "Where are you getting drinks at?"
Person 2: "Ohh a place to get drinks at"
It doesn't answer the question.
I'm just going to try one last time with this. And, btw, I'm not familiar with the band, so I'm not wishful thinking here. I stumbled across this band name while the clue was on my mind.
The "but where is it buried?" part of the clue is almost a commentary on the band name AFTER reading the band name. So you look at the name of the band:
A Place to Bury Strangers
You react to the band name:
"hmm, interesting, Strangers is a scary flick, but where is it buried? A 'place' isn't specific enough for me, I'd like to know where."
I know that when typed out that extensively it appears to be a stretch, but I didn't do any stretching. The word bury being in the clue would have been the only way anyone would ever arrive at that unknown of a band. Yet they played levitation last year and would fit perfectly in the Thursday Japandroids, cloud nothings, iceage spot.
I also submit that Carrie Underwood works well. Its a coincidence just because of how unlikely she is. Miami Horror is also plausible especially with them being at Coach.
At this point all threads are a clusterfuck, so I don't need to be schooled on what goes in which thread, but thanks anyways.
And I stick by the comment. APTBS does not fit IMO. I think it's going to be Miami Horror with Underwood a slim chance
Its odd that you think it doesn't fit at all, while others think it fits too precisely being that buried is in the clue. Interesting. But, as you said, those other guesses are solid.

Part 1 fits with horror flick = strangers. It's the second part that doesn't. A place to bury doesn't answer the question. I mean I get what your saying. But to me, if that's the rationale of the clue maker, it's poorly done. I just think the answer should actually answer the clue.
And honestly. I think the fact that buried is in the clue is one of the biggest reasons APTBS isn't the answer

Didn't realize The Strangers was a film (not a huge fan of horror movies). So yeah I think that's the answer now. Fits better than anything else. Where is it buried? = a place.

It's not Underworld, but at least that makes sense. You just need to give some leeway on Underworld being in the horror genre.
Has anyone explained how Miami Horror fits? Because Miami is a place name where something could be buried? Is that really the rational people are using?

Yes. According to Rummy 500 it's where people go to die.

Rummy does have a very good point.
But let's say our clue giver isn't aware of that. The best thing they could come up with was to hint at Miami Horror was "where is a scary movie buried?" That would be a new low for Roo Clues.
