At their show in Nashville tonight, Old Crow Medicine Show confirmed they'll be doing NYE at The Ryman again. Not that there was any doubt, but it's officially official now.
Dumpstaphunk is playing NYE at a 3rd tier Vegas casino. "Crystal Bay" or something like that. Kinda bummed, they were gonna be my back up plan if Panic tickets fell through.

Article states that Skrillex and Deadmau5 will headline an event that takes place 12/30 and 12/31 in Chicago. Other confirmed acts are Chance the Rapper, Run the Jewels, Cherub, and The Floozies, along with more to be announced.

Rumor floating around the city is that Tipper's reschedule is NYE in NOLA. I'm thinking "or thereabouts." Heard that from my boy who's connection tipped off Bassnectar headlining Buku last year, so there /may/ be some credibility. If I'm Tipper, I'm doing a NYE set somewhere that nets me 6 or 7 figures and not doing a makeup. But that's just me.

Seriously. Last thing I want to do on New Year's is to travel somewhere to be with all my friends/family, get dressed up, party all night, then have someone else pay the bill. Sounds terrible.

well most likely his friends won't be at his cousin's wedding. and not everybody likes and wants to be with all of their family. sorry i just thought it was more weird to have a wedding on new years is all. increased travel prices and hotel prices to force people into kinda sucks. it's like getting married on 4th of july or labor day weekend or something. people just have other things they usually do. not all weddings are free drinks all night either. jussssssssssssst saying guys calm down

Yeah, I really don't understand that logic (which is oddly common here). To me, a wedding is as important to me as any of those events. And I certainly can't understand traveling to a wedding and then skipping the reception. Just stay home.

i generally think they'll do MSG NYE whenever they can. I think a lot of acts can sell out MSG on NYE, but not a lot of acts can sell out 3-4 nights, pretty much guaranteed. The venue loves it, the band loves it, the fans love it.
being a southern phish fan its certainly not my preference. i made my pilgrimage to msg nye in 2010 and it was an amazing time, not sure if I'll make it again.
anyway i'm sure you'll find something to do! i'll be at bassnectar in bham getting dumb. tickets bought today.

yea i guess if i was going i'd probably be staying for the reception. a wedding is important it's just asking for scheduling nightmares with some people having certain things they do every year for new years or whatever it might be. my sister is getting married in the middle may next year so she's smart
Avetts FINALLY announced the venue for their new years homecoming this year. It'll be in Greensboro this time. Asleep At the Wheel is opening apparently. Should be loads of fun!
