Tornado just passed within a mile of my apartment. Trying to get my dog into the bathroom was a giant pain; she was terrified not of the storm but of the idea I might be giving her a bath
pwnd (and glad the tornado missed y'all)
My last dog loved tf out of baths. She'd sometimes jump in if you were in there or taking a shower. All you had to say was bathy and she would run for that shit. She popped most of our rafts jumping in my sister's white trash pool every time we went swimming when we lived down in the bayou. She liked the water.

oh Lil Girl loves the water, but only on her terms. I can't keep her out of puddles, but can't get her into the bath 🤷♂️

Same with my feline sons last week when a tornado warning came into effect: they strongly resisted being put into their crates because I'm pretty sure they thought they were headed to the vet lol
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

It's 95 degrees and I forgot to put up my sunshade in my car (bc I drive less than once a week) and my fucking ass is on fire. Leather seats suck in summer

currently in Seattle laying in front of my window A/C unit. 100 degrees today, 109 tomorrow!
Damn YCM. That’s fucking hot. Haha. Never been in 109 outside of a kitchen, hot car or greenhouse. It got to 87 here in Florida this morning before it got cloudy.

it's wild, we consider 80 degrees here a hot day. A/C is not common to have in WA State either

LD, y'all doing alright up there? Looks like mostly blustery conditions and some rain. I saw where parts of the NYC subway system flooded out yesterday in the Bronx.

The center of the storm passed to my south and east. It was little blustery around 2 pm when the center was closest to where I was, but nothing out of the ordinary. The south coast, Cape, and Islands got the wind. However, we got a ton of rain. All the poor drainage areas and little creeks/ponds flooded over.
Word. Not sure how high the tallies will go, but I wouldn’t be surprised at double average of everything from tropical storms to majors to hurricane # of storm days to ace how many US landfalls and most other measurements of comparison. It’s kind of scary because this could be the 6th or 7th consecutive year of various records of +activity we haven’t seen in the satellite era or even recorded weather history. To me, this looks like a year where the East Coast may see more impacts than they have in a while. Gulf should be active at times as well. Seasons have been running later as falls have gotten warmer. At least a weak La Niña is expected by September which could light a match that lasts 45-50 days. tldr: your quote

I did more this year than I've ever done.
We paid for someone to come pre install the studs and cut corrugated metal to cover our windows in January. Bought a 4kw dual fuel generator right around then cause, yanno. ERCOT likes to ERCOT. Then we just got a portable air conditioner that the generator is capable of running while also running the fridge.
I dont like this year at all. But I feel this way going into every hurricane season so
Hey LD, y’all ready for Henri? Looks like the rest of the global models joined GFS in bringing that system at least close to the Cape if not as far west as y’all.

I'm a tad more east than LD, but we got hit hard this morning by remnants of Fred.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I had travel plans for work that had me flying from NYC to L.A. on Saturday, then the thing we were supposed to do Sunday got canned, so I changed it to flying out on Sunday...and now, Henri is going to hit us that day, so I'm back to flying out Saturday, which puts me in L.A. for two days with no work to do before things kick off on Monday. In the before times, that'd be awesome, but as it is (and since I'm trying to stay COVID-free for Bonnaroo), it's just basically going to be me holing up in my hotel room for two days like Oldboy.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
UPCOMING SHOWS 5/14 - Neil Young & Crazy Horse @ Forest Hills 6/8 and maybe 6/9 - Governors Ball 8/17 - King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard @ Forest Hills 9/4 - Pearl Jam @ MSG 9/7 - Pearl Jam @ Wells Fargo Center 9/11 - St. Vincent @ Brooklyn Paramount

Thankfully I'm 40 miles inland.
I don't think I need to do a whole lot. I don't keep stuff out in the yard, and there's only one little tree in the yard. I'm just worried about the power going out mostly.
The track keeps shifting westward, which might be better for me. Worse for ITM and Bonz though.
2-3 days ago, it was missing offshore. Then it was looking like the Cape and South Coast. Then late last night and early this morning it was RI. Now it's Long Island and Connecticut. The way its going, NYC might be a possibility.
