-Ozark mountains in springfield -You got me there -Picture of a dog up close, particularly its mouth -Bleach in the picture -At midnight it's harder to see road signs and road hazards -Kids and dad enjoy a nostalgic theme park -Ronald Reagan quote connects him to his wife
Even some of your examples aren't "arbitrary." I'm not saying most of these clues aren't awful and poorly thought out. It's just a little to early to speak in absolutes. Espeically when we have three that aren't solved.
- Those are the Tetons. Why not show the Ozarks if they really had THAT Springfield in mind? - Not trying to get you. I was just curious as to your thinking. - This clue was lame. The audio would have worked just as well without the picture. - That picture is in the middle of the day. The radio clue reinforces TBT by hinting to a song name. - "Roots" also hints to Flume's record label, reinforcing the clue. - I would think Reagan reinforces the clue more then just making sure people knew it was Nancy. Also, TwoD has several songs with Eyes in the title.
Maybe arbitrary was the wrong word to use, but even this points to the radio clues only supporting the picture. However, you've helped learn some clue details I hadn't even thought of yet. It seems like the damn mountain and three straws clues continue to lack definitive answers.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Ha. I meant to say that I think we've connected some stuff the clue makers never thought about.
And for me, I've connected things that were never there.
2014:
April 05 - Twenty One Pilots
May 15 - Lana Del Rey
May 30 - Why?
June 12-15 - Roo '14
June 24 - Arctic Monkeys
September 05 - Twenty One Pilots
September 23 - Lorde
September 26 - Why?
Also seems like the clues are progressing from lower to higher billed acts.
I agree. So that makes me wonder about a few things.
1, I wonder if some of the unsolved clues can be narrowed down by this logic, for example john Mayer trio probably isn't that bucket list clue as he would be billed relatively high.
2, where exactly would death cab be billed do we think? I would guess top 10 but idk
3, depending on how high they are. If our last two clues are higher than that where is the ceiling... Will we get a Pre-HL clue, maybe even a headliner clue...

1. Probably, I'm still convinced that clue was Rubblebucket.
This may be ovet thinking and I'm really not sure if they're still a band, but could it be cradle of filth if it isn't death cab?
this works pretty well.
They are playing two festivals the weekend after Roo. So they are still around. But really? Cradle of fucking Filth? I actually joked about them having European dates a couple weeks ago. uggg.
I think of the emo guy from the IT Crowd when I think of them.
Going in a different direction, Cars R Coffins is all about bikes. Bombay Bicycle Club has a tune, "Rinse Me Down." Not sure how to tie in the baby, except for a tune called "Fairytale Lullaby." The baby seems more of a DCFC reference.

2. Top 12 for sure
3. Doubtful
I agree that headliner (and possibly even top 5 seem like a stretch). But if the trend continues, even if we assume them down at twelve we are likely to get a top 10 clue, if not 2. But maybe the trend won't continue. Or maybe they will just hang right around the top 10 area for the last 2 clues. I guess we will see.

well, there's most likely goign to be a big metal band this year... i could see it. not even sure how i feel about it. missed most of Mastodon last year and i was kind of sad about that. feel like i'd like to see CoF live
I'm tempted to say that the radio clue means there's a better guess than Death Cab, but I'm also tempted to say that the Bonnaroo interns make bad clues and I shouldn't overthink this at all.
Given the radio clue "someone needs a bath", cradle of filth is more logical than anything else mentioned
How does that tie into the picture?
really? baby - cradle... metal band, shirt with a coffin and 666 on it? i mean, i'm not saying it is or it isn't, but seeing as how we got messugah as a clue last year, it really isn't that much of a stretch

but meshuggah is at least respected outside of the metal world whereas cradle of filth is a joke to everyone. I just don't see them ever being on the farm. that said, unchained played so who the fuck knows

i dont' know much about them honestly... i know they've been around for a while, and i've liked some of what i heard. had no idea they were universally reviled. i do know they are odd
hey, i'd rather see death cab personally. not sure i can imagine 2 bands that are further apart from each other that the clues match so perfectly though lol
