turbo grafx was after. TLOP was originally So Help Me God then Swish then Waves but I don’t remember him ever announcing a release date. I remember it being a day late.
Yeah idk what the TLOP number is supposed to be based on either. 531 days would mean an initial release date of around October 2014. Not ringing any bells. I don't remember spending 2015 anxiously awaiting a new Kanye album, and I would have at the time.
On January 8, 2016, Kim Kardashian, West's wife, announced via Twitter the release of "Real Friends", The Life of Pablo's actual first single, will initiate the return of West's GOOD Fridays program.[4] West has previously done a weekly free music giveaway leading up to the release of his fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in 2010. "Real Friends" was released the day it was announced via SoundCloud simultaneously with the album's (then titled Swish) release date and a snippet of the forthcoming GOOD Friday release, titled "No More Parties in LA", which features guest vocals from Kendrick Lamar.[5]
This is pretty much exactly how I remember it, except that the date that sticks out to me is Jan 9th, cuz that was the day the Chiefs bageled the Texans 30-0 in the playoffs. But I probably just saw the news that morning. I remember it being that day and going around to tell people at work about it before I got off and went to watch the Texans get annihilated. I reacted as though I did not know any new Kanye music was coming.
I get that cos does anything for the clicks but no one should be covering this for a myriad of reasons.
Yeah there are lots of news and media covering it. They happened to be the first tweets I saw about it so grabbed them. As usual he says some wild things
Seeing him rant and then start crying so aggressively is pretty disturbing.
Edit: I don't want to quadruple post but he just said he doesn't want to make abortion illegal. So that's something. And he debated a young girl from the audience about the topic lol.

The man needs help, idk his loved ones aren't protecting him more. He's clearly not in the right state of mind.
I feel like this is 100% fueled by a media driven feedback loop of attention and maybe a handful of his dumb shitty friends that sort of have the same views. I'm sure his family and people that actually love him are at a loss of what to do because he does have so much autonomy with his fame and money, he can't really be cut off financially, hes already seemingly gone through some kind of treatment and publicly bailed on it.
I just saw the video of him crying and man... I hope he finds help. I genuinely don’t believe this is a media stunt now. Either that or give him an Oscar

Yeah. I've seen a number of sources covering it. Cos just seems to be the most enthusiastic.

the best recovery he seemed to make was when he was producing for other artists and making Ye. He said a lot of crazy shit leading up to that but he was at least slightly hinged. He probably just needs to take whole year or two doing that again and throw away his phone.
TLOP was scattered. Ye was just bad. I forget Jesus is King ever existed. It’s all downhill from here. Weird when new Kanye releases don’t even register with me anymore.
Do you all ever type up a really long paragraph detailing your thoughts on things and then realize nobody cares this much about your opinion and think about how stupid the internet is
Also the articles that are mocking him seem mean, idk. I know what he's doing is wrong and it's delicate balance but this dude is clearly hurting in some capacity and can reasonably be attributed to his mental illness. It's crap like that which just perpetuates his idiotic belief that people just don't want him to succeed

no shit, i read your post, agreed with it, clicked "like", then started a new post typing up my defense of TLOP, read it, then decided not to post it.

100% agree. To me, at this point, his actions are more of an indictment against those around him than Kanye himself. Real friends and loved ones would not be letting this happen.

Being the loved one of a person with bipolar disorder is far more difficult than you're giving credit for. I doubt they're all just "letting this happen". A person in the midst of an unmedicated manic episode is nearly impossible to control when they're NOT a billionaire celebrity (who is almost certainly surrounded by yes-men who aren't his real friends and family). Sometimes you just gotta ride the wave with them so that when they come crashing down they know you're still there through thick and thin.

You're right, this is more of what I was getting at. Was not trying to be flippant about the struggles of managing a loved one suffering from serious mental illness. But we have a good idea of Kanye's close friends and family, many of whom are also very public figures, and you'd think that even if they were "riding the wave" you'd get some sense of concern rather than complete business as usual.
