General Info Members: Brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence who are only 21 and 18 years old respectively. Their set will likely consist of a mix of synthesizers, drum, bass, and tables. Biography: It is inevitable in music that when a genre explodes and becomes the newest craze, it eventually starts growing stale. Imitators and no talent hacks start seeping in to try and get in on the cash grab. In EDM's case it has lead to DJs who just push play, regurgitation of the same top 40 tracks remixed into House music with minor tweaks to the transition. Disclosure is not one of those groups.
Brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence grew up in Reigate, Surrey. Although the siblings seem incredibly young, they are not new to the scene. Back in 2010, Disclosure first emerged with "Street Light Chronicle", a slice of competent, indistinct bass music. With every succeeding release, however, Disclosure rapidly moved away from "Street Light Chronicle"'s weatherbeaten greys towards a smoother, brighter sound. 2012 saw their first taste of mainstream success with their fantastic remix of Jessie Ware's "Running" which greatly increased both artists' profiles; Then in October of that year, Disclosure had their first mainstream hit in their collaboration with fellow Bonnaroo 2014 act Sam Smith, "Latch." This song has become almost an EDM anthem, and I fully expect a live collaboration between the two on the farm this year. But to get back on the track, they followed up "Latch" with a one two punch in their collaborations with AlunaGeorge singer Aluna Francis, "White Noise", which skyrocketed to #2 on the UK Singles chart only two weeks after its release; as well as their collaboration with Eliza Doolittle entitled "Help Me Lose My Mind." The three hit tracks were packaged together on an EP entitled "The Singles." Their rise has been meteoric, and for good reason.
Less than a year later the brothers released their debut album and what may become known as their masterpiece, "Settle." The album was met with both critical as well as commercial success, debuting at #1 on the UK Albums Chart, and charting on similar lists around the world. "Settle" produced a number of other hit songs including the lead sing "When a Fire Starts to Burn" their collaboration with Mary J. Blige entited "F For You," ect. If I were to sit here and list all the great songs this duo has produced in such a short amount of time, we might be here for a bit. They toured more than 40 countries following the release of "Settle," including performing twice at Glastonbury 2013, appearing on Later with Jools Holland, and earlier this year at Coachella. "Settle" was also nominated for Best Dance Album at this past years Grammy Awards. Personally, this is the number 1 performance I am looking forward to at this years Bonnaroo.
Major Discography
Sounds Like Genre: EDM, House, Deep House, Synthpop Related Artists: They have performed collaborations with Mary J. Blige, Lorde, Sam Smith, AlunaGeorge, Eliza Doolittle, Jessie Ware, London Grammar.. They also have collaborations in the works with Kendrick Lamar, Nile Rodgers, Q-Tip, and are hinting at a few other huge names for their second album that I can't wait to hear. Similar Artists: SBTRKT, Flume, Classixx
Suggested Listening
Just listen to all of Settle:
Physical Reaction/Live Show: I saw Disclosure for the first time last summer in Central Park. The mixture of drum, bass, and synthesizers with the usual equipment you would see at an EDM show was a breath of fresh air. Both Sam Smith and Jessie Ware came out that night for giant sing alongs.. I fully expect at least Sam Smith to show up at the Bonnaroo performance.
Personal Notes I apologize if this post isn't too coherent. I unfortunately am writing it in a bit of a rush.

One of my most anticipated sets this year at the farm. Getting up front for this one! I can't stop listening to their album, one of the best electronic albums to come out in a while
All of the DJ's surely have taken a lesson
Start talking trash and I'll come with my Smith and Wesson

That is precisely why I am leaving Kanye wayyyy early...or maybe skipping him altogether. I have to have a front row spot at this show. I know it will be a clusterfuck, but as long as that clusterfuck is behind me I don't even care.

exactly what I'm thinking!!! I want to have an amazing spot.
I also will be at this tent for hours before for Frank, so I'll probably do the same for them.

I've posted this same plan in multiple forums! Can't let this idea spread too much! We all gotta make it to the front! I (personally) could care less about Kanye.. but that Disclosure show is gonna blow everyone's hair back! When I saw their name pop up on the line up - I was jumped out of my seat
I did this same thing for Thievery Corp when Jay Z was playing.. except I watched about an hour of Jay.. then headed to Thievery.. and got a great spot!

Same for me on Frank. I would like to see Jack White, but I don't care as much about that, as seeing Mr. Ocean.

If we only meet each other once in our lives, can we make it be at the Disclosure show? 1karen1Monieislehcesyleroguehero and whoever else wants to join this Inforoo Friday the 13th dance party

All that matters is a place to dance.
Promise. (veteran talk)
All I'm sayin is last year I got to alt-J about 20-30 minutes before the set and I was so far back I could hardly hear I just don't want that to happen for Disclosure, esp with all the buzz around them right now.
I will be front row for Disclosure, and you will all watch me cry when Sam Smith comes out. Seriously, it's going to happen. I'll cry, then I'll just stare at him with pure lust.

There is one thing...Alt J was on Thursday.
The Thursday show are aways more packed and rowdier because everyone just arrived, and there wasn't a headliner beforehand.
That being said, plan your day...You're being smart.

roguehero If you skip most or all of Kanye, then you should be good - but this show will fill up with the quickness midway thru Kanye's set I can guarantee it. I don't get up close for many shows, but I plan on it for this one cause it's going to be epic

Shit I'll probably cry when Sam Smith comes out...His set and Disclosures....that voice!

See, leaving Kanye isn't an option for me. I definitely want to stay for his whole set. BUT I'm pretty sure that I'll leave as soon as the last song starts, and I don't need to be super close, so I should be able to get a good head start ahead of the herd before the migration starts.

Oh, during his solo set you're all going to see me make some pretty inappropriate faces. His voice just does things to me. He makes me swoon.

Well I'm the same as you, I'm not really a fan of Kanye. So I may go and see a few songs, but I also wouldn't be opposed to not going at all to ensure a good spot. I'm also down for a meet up with all you Disclosure lovers on here

For sure, I may watch like 30 mins of Kanye - but Disclosure was definitely one of the bigger "draws" this year for me, not Kanye so yea.. I'll be at their tent early as possible.. and if anyone ya'll wanna meet up, then let's meet up!
