Been listening on this twitch stream. So good. SO good.
Oh nice, good move.
Like I posted in a different thread I think it's awesome except for the Yachty/Thugger track. I've got a massive smile on my face right now.
Yeah that def was a weaker one. I LOVE the opening track. The features are pretty solid. The bars are great. Also I'm religious so I really enjoy that aspect of this album as well. Chance delivered again!!!!

What a gift this album is for a young religious person! Haha. I really love this thing. It's going to get played a lot this summer.

Listening through it again and I like it a little more. My biggest issue is the amount of autotune rappers, it's just not a sound I'm a fan of. Otherwise there are some really great songs, and the instrumentals are all pretty stellar
https%3A//soundcloud.com/dailyhiphopsounds/grownasskid Wish this had ended up on the album.
He posted on Twitter seeming pretty upset that this has leaked, so it's possible he wanted this saved for a future project. There's another theory that he couldn't get the samples cleared but still wanted to release it, so now he's pretending to be mad so that he doesn't look to be to blame or some shit like that. I don't buy any of that though really.
After my first listen I have some mixed feelings. There are some great songs and Angels is definitely still my favorite but there are some serious low points on this thing. I couldn't even finish Mixtape. Holy crap that has to be the worst thing I have heard him write. The Ye song was pretty good. I feel like it was written in the same session as ULB (but I think I still like Ultralight Beam more). Summer Friends' beat gives me a total So Many Details by Toro y Moi vibe. Both Blessings songs are great the Bieber song is good. Maybe I just had different expectations for how it would sound. I feel like there are way to many Fetty Wap sounding filler tracks. That Lil Wayne song is pretty rough with me too. So far I think Acid Rap is better
Really praying the St. Pablo tour ends up having Chance open up for Kanye. It just makes too much sense like when he had Kendrick on the yeezus tour.
It would make sense for him and his career, but I'm against this just because his own shows have such great intimacy and energy to them that make them magical, and I feel like a great deal of that would get lost in a stadium. I also know how much Chance admires Kanye and although I generally really like Ye's music, I'd hate for some of his narcissism to rub off on Chance. Chance's humility and groundedness is part of what makes his music so good.
I'm really loving this album. Only things I'm not really feeling are Mixtape and the extralong intro to How Great. I might split that intro into a different file so that way I can skip it during playback. All Night and Same Drugs are probably my favorite songs on the album; I wish All Night was a few minutes longer because I really feel like that could be a hit song that you hear EVERYWHERE (which I personally would have absolutely no problem with). This album has still surpassed my expectations though; I was really apprehensive about a sophomore slump esp because Acid Rap was incredible but I'm sure I'll be playing this all summer. Best album I've heard so far this year.
A general consensus seems to be that the major complaints from this project is "Mixtape" as a whole and How Great's intro going a little too long.
For me, it's better than Acid Rap, which I didn't think could be done. I loved AR but it took me several listens to fully love and appreciate it, whereas it was instant with this mixtape.

Isn't it a great feeling when you just "get" an album like that? I love that.
Anyone care to make a prediction about when/where Chance will be popping up this year now that he's confirmed that he'll be camping on the farm again this year?

Tent only. Maybe the crowd will lure him to brunch.

I predict he doesn't show up at all and chooses to do something that will make him money instead. Dude bails on his actual performances relatively often, I wouldn't take him too seriously saying he's going to camp at Bonnaroo for fun.

da fuck? he was "camping" there last year and showed up for many features. He'll be at Roo, he'll come out for J cole, superjam, and probably macklemore's set. wouldn't surprise me if hes dancing with all of us at Dead n Co on Sunday too.
