The police raided a local guy's house over a fake twitter account (about our mayor) that had less than 50 followers and had been suspended over a month ago

I live in Houston and love this city (aside from humidity). However, I find it damn ridiculous how many robberies, armed robberies, some involving shootings, happen at the University of Houston campus. It seems like I hear about one every other week! I understand it's located near a pretty shady part of the city, but seriously, can't the city take measures to protect students and shit?
All of the DJ's surely have taken a lesson
Start talking trash and I'll come with my Smith and Wesson

Ever been stranded in your apartment for a whole day because your block was on lock down during a hostage situation? Just another day in the life of a North Philadelphian.
We had a serial pooper that was pooping behind Toys R Us and various malls around the city from 2004-2008. He would leave baseball cards stuck in the poop with word bubbles that the players were saying, such as "Check out the swirl in this peanut filled plop", as if Tom Henke would ever say something like that.

I'm laughing so hard right now. What is wrong with people? LOL

State Sen. Stacey Campfield today compared the Affordable Healthcare Act, also known as Obamacare, to the holocaust. Writing on his blog he said compared people signing up for the Affordable Healthcare act to "Germans bragging about the number of manditory [sic] sign ups for 'train rides' for Jews in the 40s." One of my favorite jokes from the Andy Daly show "Review" was when he was trying to learn what it is to be a racist and he is hanging out with a neo-Nazi. The neo-Nazi dude (with swastika flags hung all around) compares Obama to Hitler and then it's pointed out that he likes Hitler and has a painting of him on the wall. The response was golden:
“Yeah, I liked the way he started out, but when he started with the Obama stuff, that’s when it all went downhill.”
There's ignorance everywhere. I've found it generally boils down to two types: ignorance that stems from being uneducated/under-educated (commonly seen in rural areas) and ignorance from people who know better (think GOP politicians)
We've got a GOP-run legislature and a GOP governor currently in North Carolina and the things they are writing into law are just awful. They're working on ramming fracking through this year. The current bill had a measure that would have made it a felony for anyone to disclose the ingredients of fracking chemicals because "trade secrets", but they lowered it to misdemeanor. They're still working on it and it has to be signed into law by the governor, but there's a 99.9% chance of it going through. It's amazing to me that you could be charged as a criminal for disclosing what kind of poison fracking companies would be forcing into our ground and, ultimately, waterways. I have no doubt they will be disclosed, however.

We had a "Mad Shitter" in college. Would poop in dorm room sinks. Don't know that they ever caught him/her. (Probably him, right?)
