Haven’t been able to listen to it in a while. Pretty excited. Might do Chronic and Doggystyle b2b and see id my opinion on which is better has changed in thw last 4 years.
jimmy iovine discusses meeting dr. dre and listening to the chronic for the first time. from the superb HBO doc "The Defiant Ones" which i recommend all the time around here. great clip!
With the release of RTJ4... what are the best 4 album runs in hiphop history.
Currently, I think RTJ, Kendrick, and Danny Brown are all on great 4 album runs. Personally I have RTJ at the top of that list.
Outkast I think it clear cut #1 all time with their first 4. De La’s first 4 would have a case. EPMD, Roots (but Idk which 4 to go with).
What are some others?
Outkast is the right answer imo. Other considerations tho:
I would say Em's first 4 albums but there's definitely a drop off with Encore, so idk. First 3 were great, but if we're talking about 4, he has to drop a little due to that 4th one. And if it wasn't for Revival he'd have another good run of Recovery, MMLP2, Kamikaze, and Music to be Murdered By.
Not the first 4 of his career but Pac with Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.S, Me Against the World, All Eyes on Me, and Makaveli. Strictly wasn't a classic or anything but the next 3 all were pretty much.
Another one for me personally, although not mainstream or anything, is Tech's first 4, Anghellic, Absolute Power, Everready, and Killer.

The only run I'd consider for Kanye is College Dropout > Late Registration > Graduation > 808s
Any run with MBDTF has to deal with WTT, Good Music Cruel Summer, Yeezus or ye. I hate Yeezus, but if you like it then 808s > MBDTF > Yeezus > TLOP is viable.
Outkast's 1st four albums get better with each LP.

Lil Wayne must have gotten the rights to the beats because the og no ceilings tape is on Spotify right now and I’m so happy. He was so good back then. Hopefully this is trend of him trying to secure the rights to these songs and getting more of his mixtapes up
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
