I know that Vip grounds don't open till thursday, but could I go Wednesday, hang with my GA friends and then pack my stuff to go to the Vip spots on Thursday morning? Or will they turn me away right at the gate if I have a VIP wrist band on Wednesday?
• I did not know about the VIP sections in the tents. People found out about those by accident. I barely knew about the VIP line for the comedy tent. I had a Bob Saget ticket for 4:30, and I waited in the line at the front, but I noticed a smaller line to the side. It was a standby line for people without tickets, but it was also a VIP line. I was the only VIP in that line with a ticket, so I got front row for Bob Saget practically on accident. Sometimes, you don't know if you have a privilege somewhere as a VIP or not. I wish Bonnaroo could hand us a second booklet with the advantages of a VIP and what exactly we can and can't do.
Having never done VIP I certainly can't complain about it, but the lack of clarity regarding VIP benefits has always irritated me. Other festivals I've done VIP for make it crystal clear exactly what you are getting, with Bonnaroo a lot of the stuff it seems like you have to figure out on your own.
I guess the reason they don't expend effort to communicate all the benefits is because they sell VIP out every year anyway, so why would they bother? Makes sense but still irritates me.
I hope to go VIP in 2014. Then I can come here and really complain about stuff.

So here's my dreamy little plan for VIP next year. Could a VIP vet let me know if this idea is even plausible?
Despite being in VIP I'd still haul my shit to TO on Wednesday because being camped just 50 yards from the arch is unbeatable. No need for a backpack stuffed with water and snacks you haul around for long periods of time, just come and go as you please. BUT I could still use the VIP amenities such as the showers, lounge, viewing areas and whatnot. What y'all think?

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
You realize VIP is 50 yards away also right? Why on earth would you go to TO?

Well not necessarily looking at the map. VIP C and E looks to be farther away than GA Camp Adrien and definitely farther away than TO.

They are both close, TO is right in front of the arch but VIP has a separate side entrance into centeroo with no wait. Technically depending on your campsite, TO might be closer but only by a hair. And you can't beat the convenience of that side entrance, it's a straight shot in. Just my $.02

But I, But....I Love TO. Also any VIP'ers on here shown up on Wendsday? Is that not allowed? The only way to make the afternoon shows on Thursday would be to leave really early in the morning if that were the case.
In VIP, how early or late do you have to arrive to be behind the stages? Can you choose where you camp or do they move you like cattle to specific places like GA?
VIP is filled front to back. The earlier you are the closer you are to everything; bathrooms, showers, ice, hospitality tent, GA, Centeroo, etc. It is worth the price imo, but not everyone feels that way.

The camping behind the stages are for Staff/Guests/Press, not VIP.

You are right that you wouldn't be much farther away or maybe even a bit closer and if you love the atmosphere of TO then you should do it.

I'm thinking I'm gonna pull the trigger next year for VIP. What bums me out a bit about VIP and why I might hump it to TO is that my GA friends can't visit me at my camp if I understand correctly. It still seems to make sense to pitch camp in TO regarding that matter. My traditional Roo roll in my group is to reconnoiter the TO area and set up a forward operating base. The big open question is arriving on Wed. Not sure how that works for VIP.
Yeah! That's right I dropped reconnoiter in that sentence!!
Both. The big brunch was packed and great to see everyone, lots of activity and amazing vibes. The VIP brunch had amazing food, more room and a spread out laid back atmosphere. Both were great, but you can't compare them. They both rocked for different reasons
