We really appreciate all the replies that we've received, excellent information! Beyond excited and anxcious to meet everyone and be part of this wonderful Bonnaroo community!!
May I also ask if there is a specific time that we should arrive at the Farm to secure/setup camp and settle in? We purchased a VIP package, not sure if arrival and entry times are different.
We driving down from Ottawa, Canada. Leaving on the Monday, likely arriving in TN on Wed.. About 17 hour drive from our door to farm.
Thank you for confirming the 'wook' question I had.. Was a bit concerned with some of the posts in other threads warning about 'wooks' .. We are definitely going in with the sharing is caring mindset, communal spirit - will make note to secure/hide the cooler if necessary.
Fun fact about buying beer in the states. You can pretty much buy it wherever and whenever. Usually there is a nice variety as well. You won't have a problem finding something to tickle your superior taste buds.
As far as the cooler issue. Yes, lock it up, you can never be too careful. But In all of the years I've gone I've never had an issue. My sister once left her car open, as in doors open, and her tent open. She was wasted. I went back and took care of the mess. And nothing was missing.
In all of my travels I've never had a problem finding a case. Ever.
In my home city, there is a 4 hour period where I can't buy beer. 3 hours if you take into consideration the 4am last call. I think that qualifies as wherever, whenever.
Especially since the locations of where and when you can buy alcohol in Ontario are pretty different.
Another passive Canadian here, will be my first 'Roo - just looking for recommendations for a quality beer to drink during the event ?
I've never been to the US and have no idea what we're getting into but we can't WAIT to find out!
Thanks,
Benny and the Jess
The blueberry beer at the Brewer's Festival inside Centeroo is my favorite Roo beer! It's not sweet at all, just light and refreshing, perfect for day drinking. I think it's called Blue by Sweetwater.
Edit: forgot a comma and it would have driven me nuts

We were planning on picking up any outstanding supplies i.e EZ-Ups, and beer just before coming into TN, to avoid any potential long wait times or supply shortages that may occur, if any. I noticed a member here mentioned that there is a limit for alcohol that can be brought across state line, so we will gladly support the local TN economy and buy our booze at the first Liquor Barn we see in TN. Were not planning on drinking a whole lot, seems like most booze stashes don't end up fully depleting throughout the festival, but again we are looking forward to sharing the communal vibe and various supplies!
Especially looking forward to traveling through the various States on the way down to 'Roo.. I'm sure there will be some epic landscapes, cities, landmarks to be seen. Hoping to be able to enjoy some financial relief when buying items in the U.S. Have always heard tales about how much cheaper it is too shop State side. Especially cheaper fuel!!

One weird thing about VIP is that you will not be able to get into the campgrounds until 8am on Thursday morning. GA people can get in before that, but they get put in Pod 1 which is way far away from the action. It's not a penalty for them arriving early but more of a logistical thing because they are back beyond the main medical compound. And you can't have cars clogging the road to the main medical compound, so beyond that is the first area to get filled.
Anyways, if you arrive before 8am on Thursday, just get a hotel room. But book it now, it fills up early as you might expect. There will likely be other VIP people (myself included) booking rooms early so we can group up and share rooms to cut down on cost.
And because this is an alcohol thread, Wednesday night is the night I get my drink on because drinking a lot in the heat is not my bag!

The blueberry broo will definitely be sampled, as well as all the other recommendations the other members have kindly provided, thank you!
I appreciate the info that was provided with regards to arrival times and VIP camping arrangements. Hoping that we end up with a site close to some of you who have experienced this pilgrimage, so can quickly learn the way of the Roo!
This is solid advice. When we went to Forecastle a couple years ago, we had the idea to buy some booze once we got into Kentucky. I can't remember how many exits it was, but we had to stop at several before there was one where alcohol was for sale. We had a similar experience at a church retreat where we had to drive to the next county over to get anything.

The liquor limitations/restrictions seem pretty reasonable to me. The only other festival with onsite camping we've attended was Pemberton in BC, Canada and we had to covertly bring in alcohol the whole time. I was actually kind of surprised when I read the first post in this read detailing the allowed amounts, even more shocked that it's per person - we likely will be mainlining water during the days/and enjoying the fine local broos at night as back at camp. I'm also VERY interested in trying some of the finer "strains" that may be around, but I'm somewhat nervous about potential risks involved.
