I didn't look at tour dates to see who's actually not playing somewhere else Thursday but I predict it will come from this group:
Preservation Hall Trombone Shorty The Revivalists Something with Ziggy Modeliste Nicki Bluhm Futurebirds He's My Brother etc. Sheepdogs Drew Holcomb Trixie Whitley
Is it likely that the VIP Party is likely to get a band that is playing their regular slot on the same day or somone that is playing Friday/Saturday? From the looks of the names that have played in years past, it looks like their regular slots were Friday/Saturday? This year will be my first VIP, so I'm just going from some of the lists I've seen in previous posts. I love everything about the Trombone Shorty suggestion.
7:30 PM - VIP pre-event party begins 8:30 PM - Entertainment starts
Wow.. Isn't this much later than years past? This helps my schedule out pending a decent VIP entertainment could be way awesome.
Sorry to bother but what booklet?? I didn't get a booklet in my VIP package....I just had voucher for shirts, wristbands and the parking pass plus the printout that showed our order number.

Nicki Bluhm or Sheepdogs would be awesome. That would also help out with conflicts later!
Over the last two years, the band started later than the time printed. Not sure of the exact time, but late enough that I leave for whatever show I was dying to see around that time.
Also, IMHO, if you are trying to schedule the VIP show around the other acts, ditch that effort. With the all-you-can-drink, all-you-can-eat vibes, people get chatty and friendly, and you start meeting people in the area. Suddenly, time is lost on you, but you are making new friends, so all of your scheduling suddenly gets thrown out because, well, it's the first day at Roo and you're having fun!
Ya me and my gf are ready to call an audible and skip our two shows at from 7:45-10:30 if we are having too much fun/the VIP band is great. If neither happens going with the shows we picked. Ready to have a blast!
Does anyone know around what time last year the beer ran out?
It never ran out completely, but I do remember at some point (maybe around 8 or 9) they ran out of the good beer. At the end I think all that was left was Miller Lite and whatever cider they were serving.
