This is not very good but it's a better overall film than the original. Haven't seen it in forever and don't remember how heart wrenching Heather Matarazzo's last couple of scenes are. I do remember her being used by some rich lady to take a literal blood bath.
. Disappointing. I like Simon Barrett as a writer and was looking forward to his first directorial feature. This is just okay. The big revelations don’t really hit. Just kinda meh. Performances are good and it’s shot well.

So this is from the same guy who made Empire of the Dark. It's not quite as good but you got to respect the ambition it takes to make this stuff. Then to cast himself in the lead no matter how unfit he is for the role.
Bit of trivia. The girl on the cover, Lynne Margulies, was Andy Kaufman's girlfriend at the end of his life.
