^Unless given good reason that is. If this is the runoff everyone wants then fine. I'm simply pointing out that it looks like a basic mafia setup or the mafia setting back letting the townies do the dirty work. It's a scenirio we should all be pretty familiar with at this point.
Not sure how much opposition there will be to this, but I feel we need to either add someone else to the runoff or switch one of the folks in it. Bacon and Viking have both been in round one runoffs in several of the previous games. I was originally thinking either Nic or LLL for putting Viking in or EAP or Kdogg for putting Bacon in. With LLL in, I am not concerned with adding Nic. Kdogg was in til Viking switched to LLL, but with the posts about Viking and Kdogg I don't think there is really much to their votes for each other based solely on this game. If yall don't agree or feel 4 is too many I will retract my vote prior to the runoff as not to prolong it any longer than necessary. Could be a stretch or grasping at straws as it has been known in this game, but I would like to consider EAP, also for being the quietest of those who voted for someone in the runoff

I'm not opposed but I'm not an All Star at reading the voting patterns so I will go along with what everyone decides. From past games it seems that it comes down to the debate about having a better likelihood that there is a Mafia in the runoff but making it easier for Mafia to disguise their voting patterns.
Sticking with my vote for Bacon for now. I think a "revenge" vote from past games is a bad strategy for later games. For the record, I'm open to persuasion regarding the other candidates should he fall out of the running.
Semi-/un-related... what to make of SFA having gone from leading in the votes at one point to having zero at the onset of this runoff? Something to that observation or no?
Kdogg - Considering it was LLL and Viking, I wouldn't look into it too much, if at all. LLL and SFA have been voting partners for quite a while and Viking has been an a good luck vote for SFA thing. Any game SFA plays with LLL and/or Viking he will draw those two votes in round one. Had it literally been anyone else voting for him, ya it would be strange/something to go after.

Ever sense Viking has been doing his "voting SFA for luke" thing I've ended up being an early leader for the runoff. It's got to the point where I'm not threated by it even thought I know, in the back of my mind, it's going to be used against me at some point.
The fact that you, the "quiet in the first round when a townie" type, have started this much speculation already makes me pretty leery of you sir.
And Viking, I have my reasons. Best believe I'm not a random acts of Mafia type.
Ummmmm...... I've done this plenty of times before?? .
And you have made the point to state that you are generally a "quiet" first round player many times. Anyone who starts piecing together possible Mafia partners out loud during the initial voting of round one is really reaching and appear to be trying to shape the game already. See what I'm gettin' at?
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Thanks for the input on my question. It's my first game in about a year and I'm unfamiliar playing with about a third of this group. The votes for SFA, that part I understand... but is it a total coincidence that the two who previously cast their usual votes for SFA both wound up in this runoff? It's their runoff candidacy which had me wondering.

While I agree with it being bad strategy, it was the opening vote and he had to start somewhere. What I find more interesting is that he did not wait to stack on a vote and "choose" who goes into the runoff, which is his normal MO in the last few games. I was waiting for that, but could not comment since I have been stuck in a car the last 12 hours.
I actually like this runoff a lot, since there are some interesting choices. LLL says you cannot draw many conclusions, yet seems to be drawing conclusions about everyone else in the game, particularly me and SFA.
EAP straight up drops off the face of the earth after the Rangers game, which is understandable, yet she is a teacher and on summer break, so theoretically, should have no issue posting. Having said that, she has not been posting since last night, so she may just have been coming back, since she did ask for it not to be closed until this afternoon.

I really want to hear what reasons LLL had for voting for me, since they were never disclosed. As I said a few posts back, I got jumped on early by 2 players for arbitrary reasons, and she was the last one in with no justification. Until I hear what her reasoning is, I am not going to change my vote, since I feel that is most suspicious at this point.

I actually think it is coincidence this time. I landed in it for the reasons outlined above and in previous posts. It is my 4th first day runoff in a row, so I am honestly kind of use to it at this point. LLL ended up in it because I felt she was more suspicious than you at that point in the game, and switched off you. I still have questions regarding your earlier analysis, and key misses reading games, especially coming from you, who reads games so closely, but that is a problem for Day 2 at this point.
For now, I would like to hear from some of the quieter players this game. EAP, NBF, MC, your guys alive?
I'm not ruling out coincidence, but that does stick out to me since I'm looking at runoff candidates more closely. Viking & LLL, you were both on the same page voting for SFA, but then you both voted one another into this runoff... what's up with that?
Am I the only one who sees this four-way runoff as two pair of squabbles, between Bacon/EAP & Viking/LLL? Should we narrow this 4-way down to one of its component pairs and settle one of them head-to-head?
so here i am. yes i was gone (just like i said), the rangers play in a town that is a 4 hour drive from where i live so i've been traveling most of yesterday and today. plus i didn't have my computer and i don't like replying in mafia on my phone b/c if you make a mistake than everyone trips out and thinks you are mafia.
i am not sure how in the heck i ended up in this spot.
i did NOT put ANYONE into the runoff...i was like the third person to vote!
and the only reason i voted for bacon was b/c like he said we've kind of been going at it the last few games and also after bonnaroo he is my best friend forever so he will never escape me.
and he is right, you guys DID let kdogg wiggle out again. not cool.
i was planning on switching my vote eventually i'm sure b/c in the first round i usually pick someone's playing style i can't stand and/or have a terrible time reading (which in this case would be kdogg or viking.)
Well now that I am safe-ish I would like to see where this goes. I like the idea of WVL in the 2nd run-off. It makes sens to me to throw the person he is voting for in there as well.
For those keeping score at home, that is 2 votes for the way I play and not for content. EAP, I really don't like how you play but I am much more concerned with finding Mafia than scolding you. I am not one of your students nor do I.need a lealsson from you. If this stands, this is the biggest bunch of bullshit after faking inspector as a townie. I highly suggest those voting this wway get off their high horses and focus on the game at hand or the townies are going to lose again.
Well I don't have any suspicions about anyone yet and I certainly don't want to be stacking on anyone. Is it more desirable to go to a 3-way now or pare it down to 2? I can vote for Bacon to even up the bottom of the runoff and let vote changes or MC decide which way to go or I can put EAP in for a 3-way. I don't have a bad vibe about either of them though.

Viking always kills me in this game. When I was watching last game, I was blown away by how much his posts as a mafia member were literally identical to his townie posts. I just can't trust him, and having so little to go on, he gets my vote for now.

Everyone has checked in. Dont want to rush any rounds. If we are going to move into a second runoff, I'd like to see that start tomorrow afternoon sometime and will then remain open until monday-ish. Any concerns, let me know. Shall see how conversation/voting goes tonight.
I don't see evidence to just vote viking out without a 2nd runoff and I think it may help to see which way the wind blows so I'm going to change my vote. quacker>>LLL

Sweet. 3 people now who are critical of the way I play and 1 who.has no real reason for voting for me other than her being Mafia. All I can say is I am a townie. I am at a wedding tomorrow and driving home Sunday so don't expect a ton of defense from me the next 2 days. I will check in and respond as I can but I am in a mobile. For those undecided take a good look at why I have 4 votes right now prior to voting and reread the thread. I have been railroaded since page 1.
