Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
It's funny, how at some fests the second biggest stage is considered the worst and to have the worst sound (think Which at Bonnaroo). The beach is a bit more narrow on that end, but the way the VIP is set up is just not as conductive with the protected dune placement and all. It's an odd setup on Chevy side. However the best show I've ever seen at Hangout )My Morning Jackey 2011( was on that stage.
I saw Ween on that stage, we posted up early behind the soundboard (breaking my own rule about posting up early, but hey it was Ween) and it was outstanding and hilarious. I'll never forget Deaner saying f you to the guy on the boat.
With My Own Barehands was out of control good that set.

The Chevy stage seems a bit inconsistent. I wasn't there in '11 but I recall watching a YouTube of black keys from that year and at one point you can hear the crowd chanting 'turn it up'. Last year, some shows the sound would change mid set. Only been to roo in '07 but I think I remember 'which' being similar as mentioned. I'm sure there are a lot of factors involved, we'll see what happens soon enough.
And btw... I joined this forum a couple months back when I was trying to go to roo. Unfortunately that's not gonna work out but I found this thread and appreciate all the good info and the helpfulness of some folks on here. At hangout ill be wearing a black SOJA hat and brown electric glasses. If you see me say what up.
Here is the setlist and which album these songs come from, for the first Kings of Leon show of this tour. Hangout is their second date. I almost puked googling Sex on Fire to find out which album it came from, but you know they have to play it. I'm hoping they play more off of Youth and Young Manhood and Aha Shake Heartbreak or more new stuff. I am surprisingly fond of the new one they played at this show.
Radioactive - Come Around Sundown Taper Jean Girl - Aha Shake Heartbreak My Party - Because of the Times Four Kicks - Aha Shake Heartbreak Immortal - Come Around Sundown Fans - Because of the Times Back Down South - Come Around Sundown Always the Same - New Song, sounds really good actually Molly's Chambers - Youth and Young Manhood Crawl - Only by the Night On Call - Because of the Times Revelry - Only by the Night Notion - Only by the Night The Bucket - Only by the Night California Waiting - Youth and Young Manhood Pyro - Come Around Sundown Knocked Up - Because of the Times Sex On Fire - Only by the Night
ENCORE Closer - Only by the Night Use Somebody - Only by the Night Black Thumbnail - Only by the Night
So the tally is...
Two songs from Youth and Young Manhood Two songs from Aha Shake Heartbreak Five from Because of the Times Four from Come Around Sundown Seven from Only by the Night
I'm going to let Anders be my headliner Friday. Heading home afterwards. I got no reason to see KoL. I don't have any hatred for them, but I don't have any love either.

Unless I'm mistaken the Bucket is off Aha Shake. I'm also hoping to hear a lot off the first two albums. I loved the KOL back then, not so much now.
You're right. Bucket is Aha Shake Heartbreak. So that's five songs from the first two albums. I'm hoping for new stuff. No Shins of Big Gigantic either, Postjack?

I'm apparently the only music lover in the world who isn't enamored by The Shins. I like them more than KoL, but I've just never connected with their music. Big G is awesome, but I have seen them many times before. If they are still playing after Anders I might walk by and catch the last few minutes of their set.
I want to see Anders because I strangely went through a whole jazzfest without seeing him once. I totally have a hetero-crush on him, and need to get my fix.

I hear ya. The Shins will be my headliner on Friday.

Just worked out my schedule and don't think I'll be setting foot in the "boom boom tent", which is kinda disappointing. I like to try to keep up with what the kids are listening to.

Are you not going to pre-party? Conspirator and Lotus, brah. Imma see Public Enemy in there saturday and split Kendrick and Black Crowes.

Aw, what? You guys aren't Macklemoring and Bauuering? Come on! (I kid, I kid)
I'm just gonna say I have been really enjoying The Sheepdogs and The Weeks on Spotify these last few weeks and they are quickly becoming two bands I am most excited to see.

I've been fighting myself over The Weeks vs. Grizzly Bear, and just don't see myself missing The Weeks. Thankfully I may be able to catch the end of GB still, but I will absolutely be digging on The Weeks Friday. Not to get too far off topic, but I believe this will apply to everyone. Daft Punk's Random Access Memories is streaming on iTunes

OT, but I was admiring your work on your web page, and my fiance noticed and thinks some friends of ours in Birmingham have one of your pieces in their house. Nice stuff!

Bioluminescence!!!
Last summer at Gulf Shores we went night swimming and found the glowing plankton stuff. (It glows when churned up so as you swim in it you leave glowing tracers). It was fabulous- I've spent many summers at gulf shores and this is the only time I've seen it. Any sciencey type folks out there? Or GS locals? Will we see the glowey water creatures at hangout?

I have no idea but I hope you do, that is one of my fave natural phenomena!
