Didn't someone in the "prepping the farm" thread say thy had seen a backhoe and some large concrete drainage pipes, presumably to fix this issue? Hope that's the case.

That was me. I saw all that over at the temporary interstate exit that gets set up, though.

Gotcha. Couldn't remember exactly what had been said about it. we'll see I guess, certainly wouldn't get my hopes up that they fixed it haha.
I thought the ditch was fixed last year. Was it not?
Last year was the first year I attended Bonnaroo, but I felt like the ditch needed more than just those little baby bridges. After the headliner was over, the crowd got really backed up at the ditch. My group finally gave up and walked through the muck on the sides. I would have been more grossed out about the hepatitis I was about to contract, but I was feeling really corny at the time.

This year, like last year, if it's too busy going from the What stage to Which and the tents, you can just leave through the arch and get back in to Centeroo by the ferris wheel entrance.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

It really didn't bother me this weekend as nothing really did but it definitely held up traffic and got my shoes muddy. Maybe just move that water station somewhere else less crowded maybe in between cinema and comedy tent.
After reading about the "Dreaded What-Which Ditch" I was slightly nonplussed when I finally experienced it. I thought it was annoying, but not that bad. Although I compare it to the pod 9 portos and the fecund trough of human evil that flowed into a horrifying moat of sorts.
Just my two cents: when navigating 'mud' or 'whatever', sacrifice one foot to the mire rather than jumping. I saw so many people take flying leaps into sure filth. No wait, do; its funnier for me.

My sweetie almost lost a shoe to the mud. I wish she had. The shoe ended up under my drivers seat for the trip home. Jeez, it was actually worse once it dried...

It wasn't nearly as bad compared to some years. It can easily get 3-4 times bigger than what we saw. Not sure if that was due to improvements or other factors.

Did anyone see the guy helping folks across?? He stood in the middle of the ditch and grabbed our hands and let us step on his foot to get across safely. Ohhh Rooo.
Also my buddy is convinced they leave the ditch there for crowd control purposes. I think they could find another way.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

How? with a narrower but dry passage? Then you run the risk of people getting crushed against walls. I'm starting to think the ditch is genius. Make a mud pit that people are averse to, allow a dry passage that controls your flow of people at an acceptable rate, and then have the capacity to handle the people that do brave the mud or find a way to ford it.
I'm starting to think the ditch is a genius piece of technology that should last for all of Bonnaroo.
