Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
It's about time they made a return to the farm. With tour dates in Europe not starting till June 20th, they have plenty of space in their schedule and I don't see why they wouldn't love to be back. And I have to see them.
Closing out sunday would be great. They are flexible enough to do so. They wouldn't HAVE to be a Saturday headliner. I doubt it will happen, but I love the fact they aren't completely counted out yet.
I'll take Pearl Jam as many times as I can get them. One of my favorite, if not my favorite, band to see live. Have them play all 3 nights and I still wouldn't be disappointed. I missed 2008, so I haven't seen them on the Farm yet
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
I have only seen about 10 minutes of a Pearl Jam show, back in 1994 when I got kicked out of the Boston Garden show because I snuck in. I NEED to see them. Yes, PJ would be fantastic.

i can say this with absolute certainty: there is nothing i love more than seeing pearl jam live. they are the most incredibly talented band out there (to me) and their setlists are so diverse you COULD see them all three nights at roo and it would be three different shows. i am a member on the ten club forum as well and as far as i can tell there's nothing to count them out for '12. they have, in the past, done a show and then left for an european tour.......ahh sweet precedent.
my only problem is that i would spend all damn day to get in the pit for this show....and would miss all sorts of amazing music in the meantime.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
I discovered Bonnaroo thanks to them, I would certainly love to see them again at bonnaroo. I was at their 20th Anniversary shows, and both nights were incredible. I definitely plan to see them again next year, if not at bonnaroo, then somewhere.

You'd probably just have to get in line for the pit at the start of the band playing before them. Or do what other people do and cut in...actually don't do that. Just wait it out for a full set before.

I thought I was gonna do that for arcade fire, didnt work so well.
Really? We got in line 2 songs into MMJ and had really no problem getting in. Some people were in the pit for both MMJ and AF, they must have cut because the lines were huge about halfway through MMJ.

This was the first time I saw the beginnings of a full on riot at Bonnaroo. People had been waiting in the pit-line for Buffalo Springfield when Mumford went off. Halfway thru BK's set people started to skip the line and form a new one. They ended up getting held back.
Concert etiquette, people. It's not hard. I wouldn't do it.

You're not missing music if you're in the pit! You could discover something great that you'd never see otherwise.. It's probably not the band you wanted to see (playing before whoever you're waiting for) but this last year is exactly how I discovered the lovely Karen Elson (And, for the record, saw Jack White chilling side stage!) So you never know what can happen when you go see a band you've never seen before/didn't intend to see.

Hmm. A bunch of us Inforoosters saw the entire MMJ set from the pit, ran back and got in the back of the line for AF and got back in the pit. We cut it close, but made it. This was on the left side, though. Maybe that had something to do with it.
I was in the right pit and there was some serious pushing and shoving going on. FOr about 10 feet me and the GF were pretty much off the ground and being carried by the surge. Definitely seems like the left side is easier. Apparently it's also easier for VIP's, which hopefully is true for my sake next year.

Both nights were incredible. The group I was with (some long time pj fans) hated the first night. I thought it was amazing.

i had friends in '08 that waited like six hours to see PJ. (or so they say...)
i've never been in the pit for what stage...but made it for buffalo springfield last year on which. we got in line right when the mass of folks were headed back to what to see black keys. that ended up working out really really well but there was a terrible clusterfuck once the line got bigger and people started pushing (wankers!).
i think i just meant that i wouldn't risk missing my place in line and would hang out at what stage a lot of the time....which isn't necessarily a bad thing...but i'm a fan of wandering around trying to catch smaller acts and since i tend towards "realistic pessimism" i had to think of a/the down side

I left Mumford and Sons early and wandered to the What to catch the Black Keys and walked right in line once they started letting people in the pit. I did not cut.

The first night's set list was full of odd songs, and Kick Out the Jams kinda sucked, IMO. The second night was full of more familiar songs, a much better encore, and more songs in general. I really wanted to hear Sleight of Hand, Off He Goes, and Present Tense, and got boned on all three, but it was still a great weekend. QOTSA, despite me loathing them because of the song "No One Knows", were quite awesome aswell.
Anywho, if I can get intouch with my insider at ten club, I will ask him about any plans to tour North America. Last time we talked, he said that they may have another album coming out some time next year, and might also be rereleasing No Code and Yeild.
Favorite band all time. They introduced to to 'alternative' music back in 1991. I could listen to Eddie read the phone book. I vote for PJ on the farm!
