this year is going to be my sixth roo -& hopefully second VIP, if i can get my hands on the ticket & VIP upgradewhen sales resume saturday- Last year i vip-ed with one other friend while the other twenty-some of my regular roo-group opted for GA. This year I will be VIP solo & the rest of my rooers have been unable to comfirm their ability togo. I will probably need some new roo-buddies. Feel free to offer yourselves up! :]
Hello, I'm new to the board. This is my second Bonnaroo ( I went in '06) and first VIP. I am volunteering (to save some money) and purchased the VIP upgrade so hopefully that won't turn into too big a hassle. I have at least 2 friends solidly coming, 1 on board for VIP (allegedly). Should be an amazing time. Does anyone know if they will mail a wristband out to me? When I talked to the Travel Sport Adventures people on the phone prior to ordering the upgrade it sounded as though I have to travel to one of their hotels to pick up my stuff, but since the tickets come through Music Today I wasn't sure if that was correct. I'd appreciate any info anyone has on the upgrade process. Thanks.
Consider yourselves part of the family now! Last year's Camp Inforoo VIP included ~75+ people in about 24 vehicles. We were spread out in 2 long rows. That worked out pretty well because it meant you could amble along & spend a little while with all of your neighbors as you walked to/from the tents.
We have an open-door policy in our "tent city" setup. Just drop in, stay awhile & get to know us. You won't have to fly solo to shows since we've all got different tastes. And there's no chance of you missing Brunch on Friday since we all roll in together, parade-style. You'll love it!
Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we start our strategic planning. Then you'll have a better idea of who's who and who's bringing what. See ya in June!
^ You probably walked right by us all weekend! Last year, we were directly in the middle between the What Stage wall & the VIP tent/showers. Every year we have a theme: last year, it was DiscoRoo. Yes, there were disco balls...big ones, small ones, decorating our communal area, hanging from our necks & Camelbaks - anywhere & everywhere. Oh yeah!
In '10, we weren't as numerous but we were DEFINITELY still wearing shenanipants & having a blast. That's how we do.
Also, to all the new blood - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not be put off by our "group-ness." We are a very close group and many of us have been camping together for a long time. Don't worry if one of us runs up and give you a huge hug and screams "EEEEEEEEEEE" in your face. We may not know you now, but by the end you'll be family.
We do like to cook breakfast together. If you want to join in, we'll happily have you. If you want to be more on your own, that's fine too.
Part of what makes VIP so special is that we are so close. We can always rely on each other, we can trust each other and we can have fun together. You always have someone at camp, you always have someone to go to a show with, you always have a buddy. Many of us have become friends for life due to VIP camp and we are there even in the non-Roo times for each other.
It's a really special place and we are happy to have you join us.
And on Sunday night, I tend to get really drunk and hump people. It's ok, just go with it. It's better for everyone that way.
I got an early start on my Bonnaroo pile. Just bought a new easy up!
Also got an early start on the line-up. I saw Flogging Molly (with The Devil Makes Three opening) last Sunday. FANTASTIC show! put them on your list for June if you haven't already...
Yes..They were spectacular as well...just didn't mention them since they aren't scheduled for 'roo.
/possible addition later, but I don't think they are comfortable touring with FM...Joe seemed a bit jealous that the crowds at their shows are less pumped up for them than FM...
Bought strings of led battery powered white lights with a timer. It says they flash 8 different ways, but I am not sure that my mind can handle that feature late at night. It's not a wedding/HoneyRoon without an EZ-Up, um, gazebo, covered in white lights and paper honeycomb wedding bells.
Welcome to VIP: all the leg humping and flashing you can handle, for no extra charge!
I think there should be a sign that says this on each side of our compound. ;D If for nothing else, as a warning, or incentive to join the Inforoo camp.
Ya know it sounds like I may need earplugs the kind you insert and the kind you wear over your ears.. J/k I have two EZ-ups and And a new tri-canopy, I have bought lots of stuff since last year. Its kinda hard when I'm out for my brain to be like "wow that would be awesome to have at roo" and I don't even do it intentionally. Roo is always there and it comes out at the weirdest times, kinda like when I get my feet dirty.
I really, really want to join y'all this year. Sounds like sooo much fun! Last year was my 1st Bonnaroo & I loved it. Just wish I had not waited until I was 36 to go. Looks like I can't talk my hubs into coming though, so I need to find another person to split the tix with. Any suggestions on how to do that? Thanks!
WHAAAAA? THE SCROGFATHER'S ROLLIN' VIP THIS YEAR?!? Ohhhhhhhh yeah! I'll add y'all to the list!
Yay, PerennialAddict! See, it's a good thing you waited too long to buy Hangout tickets! Maybe this year we'll do another Saturday morning Starbucks run for everyone in camp! I've still got the little dry-erase board to write down orders!
And PShan!!! We *finally* get to meet your lovely better half?!? Sweet! If she has ANY QUESTIONS about what to pack, what to wear, etc - just ask!
SO.QUACKIN.EXCITED!!! Just over 100 days now, y'all!!! ;D
An older mess kit. I will be buying an additional one.
Some of the collapsable water jugs. I hated them! I will get solid ones or just use gallon jugs instead. A couple cheap camp chairs of course. A reasonable sized cooler for two people. Because I don't think that the other two in our group will buy vip now. Hell I honestly don't even know if their coming now.
And TARPS I had every size you could want/need. BUY TARPS. And things like zip ties or Para cord<--- I would suggest the paracord it will be a life saver.
Bug candles/spray.
this list would be huge but I just wanted to list my best gear that I wholly endorse. BTW I scored most of it on steepandcheap.com I got that new table for $29!!
