Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
If Bonnaroo nabs a couple of really expensive headliners for Friday and Saturday I could see them throwing the Sunday slot to the Flaming Lips. I think this becomes even more likely if they also secure huge stage LN`s.
Yeah, if the lineup was:
Pink Floyd | Talking Heads | David Bowie | Prince | The Flaming Lips
Maybe the FLips MIGHT headline sunday, with David Bowie playing Late Night after Talking Heads on Friday, and Prince playing Late Night after Pink Floyd on Saturday.
Unicorns might also fly out of my weenie hole too.
The Flaming Lips aren't big enough to headline bonnaroo, and I am pretty sure they are perfectly aware / perfectly happy with this fact. Give them a 2 hour latenight set on the What Stage, say 1:30am til 3:30am, a $25,000 pyrotechnics budget, and ten 5 watt lasers; and Wayne Coyne would be happier than a pig in poop.
Talking Heads aren't big enough to headline, maybe Which Stage closer on Friday or something. You'll never see this kind of lineup at Roo though, maybe Coachella where it won't walk over the toes of the MTV/pitchfork demographics.
Does anyone else agree that Flips at the which stage was just way too crowded in 2010? I feel like they could easily take down a What stage set at some point. I got there 20 minutes before the show started, and I wasn't expecting front row or anything but I seriously was soooo far back with just a wall of people in front of me.

Yeah it was terrible. I tried to stage hop and catch some of their set before LCD soundsystem but I was so far back I sincerely regretted leaving Black Keys early
I mean, I'll never ever ever pay to see a JUST Flaming Lips concert (Soft Bulletin excluded) but if they're at a festival or something, I'll probably at least take them into consideration when making my schedule.
But yeah, theres only so many times I can hear Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots slowed down to a snails pace with just Wayne singing it before I just want to scream in his face to hurry it the fuck up. I wish they would just play that song normal once in a while, it's such a great song and the live version has seriously ruined it for me.

I've seen them three times, the last being exactly a year ago. Their 2010 Roo show followed by LCD helped make my favorite music day ever. That being said, after the last time I saw them I didn't feel jazzed in the same way after the first two times. It's not that the show was bad, but I've been overexposed to their show for now. I felt like I was burnt out on them and still feel that way, plus these EPs they've been releasing haven't been so great.
I won't pay to see them for a long time, but would still catch them at a festival, especially if I had my sister with me who is dying to see them. I also would prefer a Yoshimi set over Soft Bulletin. Seeing Yoshimi in full, in the dark on the grounds of Roo, with all kinds of confetti and inflated things floating about, would be something I'd remember forever. So do I support them at Roo next year? quack it, why not.

posted this story in the blackwater thread but just wanted to share it here because I know alot of people only really browse the troo music lounge. This was my favorite moment of the weekend: My friend and I were rocking out with this topless hippy chick during flaming lips up by the front rail. She was so ecstatic and in a state of complete bliss. Wayne starts playing 'yoshimi' and he looks over at her and smiles really big. He tries continue to keep playing but he's still looking at her and just starts laughing out loud and stops the song. He looks over at her and says with a huge smile on his face "You are just having so much fun, you need to come up here" (or something along those lines) So she gets up on stage and bows to him and he gives her a hug, then she walked back and bowed to the audience She came back down and was crying tears of joy for most of the rest of the show. Wayne is just the coolest, friendliest dude on the entire planet and that was just really cool of him
I wouldn't have any complaint at all if the lips came to bonnaroo every year and played the same show. It's just that amazing
I just couldn't get into it. I left after See The Leaves and caught the end of Shit Horse. I can understand how other people could have enjoyed the show but I was happy with my decision to leave.

I just wanna hear em play some In A Priest Driven Ambulance stuff. I'll never understand why they completetly abandoned the early catalogue, bigfuzz guitar songs. It would mix up their sets and they have several albums worth of good material they almost never draw from.

Cool video I got this weekend. Wayne was messing around with an audio cable and a light bulb (?!) and doing some noise experimentation. It was really cool.

I agree with this 100%, their set at Blackwater was great! F'ing amazing!!!
Over 15 years ago I went to see a band called Candle Box down in Tampa and there was a band that had a song on MTV that was opening for them. I left that showing thinking, "Man, Candlebox is okay, but that opening band who sang about the girl who does not use Jelly or any of these, she uses Vaseline, was amazing!" I totally still feel that way today.
Has anyone listened to all 6 hours of Found A Star On The Ground ? I got threw 2 straight n 2 since then
I actually listened to it sped up by 200%. Kind of disappointed that they didn't deviate away from that drum rhythm. The last 10 minutes were beautiful, though. Really, the track would have been fine as the first ten minutes and the last ten minutes.
