Well made an account on Tidal and meticulously recreating my old Spotify playlists.
Also after minimal research, Tidal has a more expansive library than Spotify? If that's true I should have made the switch long ago.
Migrating my lists from Spotify to Tidal is going to be a nightmare, .... I am investigating Apple Music which still has a way to bring in playlists from itunes that I still value
edit: Want to indicate this is Spotify capturing us. Because they don't allow for xml sends like iTunes and Apple Music do.

I actually haven't minded doing it manually too much. It's allowed me to rediscover old playlists I made more than 2 or 3 years ago. I've done about 9 hours worth and only one track wasn't available on Tidal so that's worth saying something right there.

You can use python in the Spotify API to export playlists as csv. I was messing around with this when I was scraping data about the Bonnaroo lineup/generating playlists.
From a cursory search tidal has basically drag n drop functionality for creating playlists that way.

My boyfriend switched to Tidal today. Mostly because I was reading him everyone’s comments from here about it. Also because they have all the Grateful Dead box sets or some shit. I don’t know.
So thank you all.
Also also, does anyone here have the Grateful Dead Time Machine? He got one and I’m looking for cool ways to display it while keeping it functional.

Is there a brief or basic comparison to what tidal has vs Spotify? Seeing mentions of Tidal having more intrigues me but I never looked into it.
I have Spotify premium but mostly out of wanting streaming music without ads. I have no real loyalty. But does tidal really offer a significant amount / variety more than Spotify? I don't use Spotify for podcasts at all

According to a random 2 month old Soundguys article I found from a google search, Tidal has a larger library while Spotify's is more niche.
TIDAL offers over 60 million tracks whereas Spotify has about 50 million; clearly both have a considerable amount of music. Some artists opt to release exclusive music only to TIDAL, sometimes for months, before it is released to the rest of the world. On the other hand, some lesser-known indie music that can be found on Spotify may not be found on TIDAL.
Spotify accepts music submissions from anyone, whether it is submitted through a third party distributor such as CDBaby or submitted directly to Spotify. For an indie artist to submit to TIDAL, however, they have to submit it through a select few music distributors. If you typically only listen to relatively popular artists, this shouldn’t count against TIDAL, but if you’re a fan of true bedroom pop, you may want to go with Spotify.

To counter, the "lesser known indie" can often be found on bandcamp..
