What went well, what went wrong, and what just smelled awful? I figured we could use a little discussion on some of the new, and some of the old, logistics at the festival.
Good -No sound bleed from the Lunar Tent -Later Headliners meant pre-HL after dark (I'm not sure if everyone was a fan, but I liked it) -Glow sticks were allowed again this year. As bad as they are for the environment, sometimes you really just need a glow stick. -The way the What and Which had essentially unopposed acts before the headliner spread out the closing conflicts really well. Unfortunately, that didn't happen on Sunday so those same sh!tty conflicts crept in again.
Bad -No Lunar stage for sound to bleed from -The Water Slide costs money. It probably wasn't as cool as I thought it would be anyway. -Florence was in a tent -Apparently balloons aren't allowed in, even if they're filled with helium. I got these cool LED balloons to find our campsite, and the security supervisor at the gate was a real asshole about them. I offered to show that it was helium by inhaling one and my voice getting high-pitched (plus they were floating), so he searched my whole car very thoroughly, which brings me to my next point: -An alcohol limit of 2 cases of beer or 1 handle of liquor per person??? I can drink more than 2 cases of beer in 5 days, easily. And everyone else I camp with can, too! -Scanning into Centeroo is alright with me, but scanning out is a little unnecessary.
Smelly -The port-a-potty set up in Centeroo this year was atrocious! I remember at Vegoose 07 when a line formed for the port-a-potties during Rage, the people stampeded the 10 foot tall fence and just started pissing everywhere, and the nearby cops on horse back just backed up and let it happen. That should've happened in Centeroo. -The path between What and Which (I heard it called Diarrhea Alley, as a reference to Diagon Alley from Harry Potter lol) -The water in Centeroo on Saturday. Seriously.
Why does every person feel they need their own thread where they post what they thought was good/bad about this years roo? There's like 9 of these already.
Also, what exactly would the point of scanning into centeroo be if you didn't have to scan out?

Sorry, I looked back 2 pages and couldn't find any, and I've spent a fair amount of time on here since then. I also felt like I had a few good points that I hadn't seen brought up in here.
Also, what exactly would the point of scanning into centeroo be if you didn't have to scan out?
The point of scanning in is to make sure that people who could potentially sneak into the campgrounds don't make it into Centeroo. But scanning out simply prevents people from what? Sneaking from Centeroo into the campgrounds?

Oh, did the 3 second wait to get out of Centeroo bother you? They do it so they can verify everyone leaving has a wristband on. If you don't have a wristband on, and sneak into Roo, they can nab you on your exit.
Yeah, exactly. No point in scanning in if you don't scan out.
And the reason you may not have found a thread when you looked back 2 pages is because this is in the completely wrong forum. Head to the What stage where you'll find 9 million posts about how this year was the worst/best Bonnaroo.
My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone who is gonna drink 2 cases of beer and a handle of liquor over the course of a few days at Bonnaroo. Have fun being dehydrated and hungover in that weather. Hope you survive it.

not really an issue as long as you stay hydrated with water as well. i drank more this year then my first 3 years, stayed away from the other things other then corn, and honestly felt better at roo over the long haul then years past.
as long as your smart with it(get plenty of water and food) you will be more then fine.

It's OR not AND. If you show up Wednesday night and leave Monday morning, that's 9 to 10 beers a day. That's not very much. I drink way more than that at Bonnaroo, but I drink a looootttt of water to stay hydrated.

The Good: *MMJ/Arcade Fire was incredible *Sports Bar area was very cool *Late night acts were impressive
The Bad: *Scheduling for Mumford/Black Keys/Buffalo Sprinfield was a disaster and ruined a good chunk of my evening *Mumford, in my opinion, was a letdown *The Strokes *Water slide costing $$ *The scanning bs
I'm kicking myself for the many mistakes I made this year. I missed the Black Keys and nearly all of Buffalo Springfield. My group also left on Sunday morning.
However! I saw my first Portugal. the Man show which was awesome. Can't wait to see them at a non-festival show. Also saw my first MMJ which certainly will not be my last. I was blown away. And that was right before I waited 5 hours to get front row center for Pretty Lights until sunrise!
