They didn't have any trouble selling me on that show. But I like the heat. And I love the venue. I think I've seen 4 shows there, but the three I remember were Galactic playing for Steve Gleason's Birthday Party like in 2013, Sigur Ros in 2013 and Manson/Smashing Pumpkins last year. There was something else, but I'm blanking.
I have seen MMJ, Deftones, Korn and something else... Shit. I like the heat as well, but man it was fucking hot for MMJ. I remember wishing I had a hair tie so my hair wouldn't be on my neck. The sound is hit or miss there I find. It is what it is, I am not going to not go just because that is the venue. I will wait to see if a groupon comes up for it though.
We got lawns for Muse, seats were almost $100 after fees. I didn't order ATDI, but we got GA... Do they close the balcony for shows like this (this is only the second time I'll have gone to the Tabernacle)?

I try to avoid Atlanta, in general. That drive is horrible to and from Columbia, especially late at night.

I can understand that. For us we prefer Atl over Cha, even though their about the same distance. But we're also lucky enough to have a friend that lets us stay there whenever we go to Atl.
Charlotte is only like 1.5 hours away on a bad day, whereas ATL is 3 on a good day, so if I had my choice I'd always pick Charlotte. Obviously ATL gets way better shows. Even though Asheville isn't much closer, at least the city itself doesn't give me a headache.
Reddit has that Tipper and Friends is doing 4 nights in Astral Valley, Missouri in August. For Springfield and St Louis people and those from OK and NWA, that's probably going to be bad ass.
