I wonder why there's a 12 day gap between Tampa and Nashville. It's really annoying because the Tampa show is on the last day of Hangout, so I guess I gotta drive to ATL.

Interesting that they're playing at the Ascend Ampitheater in Nashville. I thought they'd play the arena for sure. Have they lost their drawing power since their last tour?
Landmark Music Festival maybe? Apparently that's still happening this year.
Yeah, there's also the Sweetgreen Expensive Salad Music Experience in May, or maybe they'll bring back FreeFest. I think FI and Beach House headlined their own day fest in a Baltimore a few years ago. Lots of options, just curious what they'll do.

Delicious Meatball Sub I know you're a Prydz fan, you going to catch one of these shows?
The Austin show is at a ~250 capacity club, and tickets sold out in under a minute. There are still a few tickets available to the Houston show (much larger venue, ~2k capacity), and I'm debating whether I pull the trigger on them.

well this year is shaping up to be pretty nice for me. Had Hiss Golden Messenger last week (amazing show, def recommend) Every Time I Die on Thursday Green Day and Against Me! in March I think my friends are pushing Beale St as our fest in May (I would prefer Boston Calling or Gov Ball but I'd rather go with them) The xx and Sampha in May Coheed & Cambria in May considering Stub hubing U2 in june Dead & Co in June debating between Forecastle and Panorama (probably just sunday) in July Muse and 30 Seconds to Mars in August Roger Waters in September
I am holding out hopes for Beck and Arcade Fire to tour. Wish Radiohead would come close but oh well.

I don't know though certainly not in Europe. The majority of these are amphitheater shows, so I guess they are catering to the 7-15k sizes rather than arenas or stadiums. They headlined Glastonbury on the Drones tour which was a couple of years back. This is all I can find on the new show:
Renowned for their extravagant live set up, now it looks like the band could be stepping up their game even further for future shows.
“It is ridiculous, but trying to dream up something more adventurous is always our challenge, where does the next bolt of lightning come where you capture the essence of it and trying to put it into a record or a tour, it’s definitely my permanent challenge,” the band’s tour director Glen Rowe said at the MUSEXPO conference, reports Music Week.
“We want to do a stage made of magnets so the band can levitate on other magnets. It’s those questions that keep me awake every night of my life. If there are any magnet technicians out there, please come and see me because that’s what we’re trying to achieve.”

That's a bummer. How long ago was that show? Club or festival?

I've been seeing some cool electronic shows pop up for that It'll Do Club in Dallas. They have Nightmares On Wax the month before. It's in Deep Elum, but I've never checked it out before. I know the Nightmares show conflicts with something else I have planned. I'll have to look into this one.
well this year is shaping up to be pretty nice for me.
are you still planning to go to hamilton leithauser this week or was that someone else?
that was totally me. I am pretty sure I somehow manage to miss every show you go to. I was planning on it and still want to. But it's my weekend with the youngster... so ya know. gotta do what i gots to do.

I'm nearly positive The Mustachio Light Show is the group that did a large portion of the visuals at the Levitation Tent during Levitation. Just good old school analog visuals using projectors and different colored oils/dishes. I spent a decent amount of time watching them create the light show during the last Levitation.

God damnit, this looks awesome and I hate living in Florida. I'm already traveling to ATL at least once, most likely twice, in April/may

Correct.
"The Mustachio Light Show performs visuals for The Black Angels and provides stage design and visual artist coordination for the Levitaion Festival."

Ya, all these late spring/early summer tours are fucking me hard. I'm supposed to leave for Idaho in late April. It seems most of these tours are routing their mountain/PNW dates while I'm still in Texas, and then swing through Texas once I head up to Idaho. One of the reasons I was really hoping Sasquatch would deliver, so I could still catch some good shows this summer. But, we see how that turned out...
