Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
also i think we should make a rule whereby if you are only playing NY, LA, and London you can't call it a "tour". even if you throw san francisco in there it still doesn't count.
I'm just glad I don't have to wait to see whether LCD Soundsystem is doing their usual December thing this year to feel better about paying another 12 months' worth of absurd New York City rent and living expenses.
You should move to Mobile, AL. Rent is cheaper, and while we aren't quite at the level of NYC for entertainment we do get a Jason Isbell show every 18 months or so.

MJ Lenderman just added a bunch of 2025 tour dates, mostly down south and out west (plus two more Brooklyn shows).
Which means that there won't be a Wednesday tour for a long time. Karly said in a recent interview that the next album is already in the can. They just need to go full-on Parliament/Funkadelic and tour as a single unit, rather than bring one project to a screeching halt when the other is active.
Given the amount of press MJL and the new album is receiving, both artists are primed to move up to larger venues very soon. 3K-8K by the middle of next year, I'm guessing.

Neither MJ nor Wednesday can sell 5k tickets in any market outside LA/NY
yeah most of those venues are like 3-500, what is he on about
MJ is playing a 700 cap venue next month here in Knoxville. I checked Ticketmaster, and it looks like it is maybe 60% sold right now. Both projects are definitely on an uptick, but 8k by mid 2025 is a big jump. Chappell just made that kind of jump, but I feel that she's an exception rather than a norm.

I just a left a hipster coffee shop. It was packed with liberals, whispering amongst each other about what a commendable job MJ Lenderman did with his new album -- America is PROUD! 🇺🇸

imagine showing this post to MJ's mom and trying to explain it

By next summer? It's likely. Neither he nor Wednesday are likely to ever be arena headliners, but the volume of press he's been getting this week from the mainstream media is incredible and a large ballroom/small amphitheater tour including both bands would be perfect for those sized venues by next summer. He's already sold out a lot of 1K-2K venues on the fall tour. Why are 3K-5K venues so unlikely by next summer, especially if the new Wednesday album is out by then?

I'm not talking Chappell Roan or Noah Kahan big, I'm talking "Who the fuck are all of these acts I've never heard of selling out AEG and LiveNation's 3-5K venues in Boston?" big.

Because that’s just not how this works.
If you’re so sure, let’s make a $1 gentleman’s bet.
I bet you $1 that neither MJ Lenderman nor Wednesday (nor a double bill of the two) will sell out a venue >= 3,000 capacity in 2025.

I'd definitely take that bet. I'd even exclude anywhere outside of North America from the equation, just in case some Bulgarian TV show runs Bull Believer over the end credits and a few thousand Bulgarians suddenly get into Wednesday, or some scenario like that.
