According to Rolling Stone, the upcoming reunion shows will feature members of Genesis’ best-known lineup, frontman Phil Collins, keyboardist Tony Banks and guitarist/bassist Mike Rutherford. Joining them will be veteran Genesis touring member Daryl Stuermer on guitar and bass and making his Genesis debut, Nic Collins replacing his dad Phil on drums.
Former Genesis members Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett are not part of the 2020 reunion. Collins and Rutherford performed together for the first time in 12 years during a collaboration last June in Berlin. Genesis was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2010. Phish performed two Genesis songs at the ceremony and guitarist Trey Anastasio gave a speech honoring the band.
Stay Tuned!
So it's not really Genesis.
It's not my favorite version of them, but it's their giant era from 1978 (And Then There Were Three) through the breakup. That's pretty much what 90% of people know by them. I'm still partial to the 5 piece era (particularly Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound, Lamb Lies Down on Broadway). But because of the enormous success they had after Gabriel left (74) and then Hackett left (76/77), it's as much Genesis as any of the rest of what they did if more commercial than progressive. Commercial success /= good, but it's important in their history.
It's the kind of thing that sounds like it could be fun but then I'd see ticket prices and yikes out real fast.
Superjam/Singalong type show for 2020/2021. Tickets would probably mirror Elton John type pricing. I've never seen Banks, Rutherford or Collins in concert before, so even though I know we'd likely be getting a lot more shit like Misunderstanding, Illegal Alien, Tonight/Tonight/Tonight and Throwing it All Away over Supper's Ready, Battle of Epping Forest or The Musical Box, it would be great to finally be able to check them off the list.

The 80s era stuff is what I grew up on, nowhere near as familiar with the prog era material. So I'd be down with a setlist heavy on that.

To me, it wouldn't be exciting musically because it isn't. I don't hate it, but I didn't buy any of the albums after And Then There Were Three. Everyone else had them, so it's not like we didn't hear those all the time plus on FM radio <-- talking about Duke, Abacab, Genesis (yellow kids' shapes album) and Invisible Touch. They'd still probably throw in a few older "hit" songs like Carpet Crawlers, I Know What I Like and some type of Supper's Ready reprise. I'll still find my way to the show if they play here. Hearing Tony Banks solo some of the piano parts for Firth of Fifth would be worth the entrance price alone for me.

Pearl Jam and film distributor Abramorama announced the Gigaton Listening Experience on March 25 in theaters around the world. The event will feature a playback of Pearl Jam’s upcoming album, Gigaton, in the cutting edge Dolby Atmos audio format two days before its wider release.
“It’s truly a unique way to experience this album,” Gigaton producer Josh Evans said in a statement. “I’m excited for fans to be able to immerse themselves in the sound and to hear the depth and layers of these songs and performances.”
The Gigaton Listening Experience will also feature visuals created by Evolve, the same filmmaker behind the video for Gigaton single, “Dance of the Clairvoyants.”
Abramorama — who handled the Martin Scorsese-directed Grateful Dead documentary Long Strange Trip — and Pearl Jam have a long history together with the former distributing the band’s concert films Immagine in Cornice (2007) and Let’s Play Two (2017), both directed by Danny Clinch, as well as the 2011 Cameron Crowe-directed Pearl Jam Twenty.
“We are honored that Pearl Jam has entrusted us – for the fourth time – to help present their new record Gigaton to fans around the world,” Abramorama’s Head of Music Evan Saxon and CEO Richard Abramowitz related in a statement. “Hearing Gigaton in theaters equipped with Dolby Atmos sound, along with the amazing images that will be on screen, will be a gamechanger and give fans an experience unlike any other.”

even without Hackett I would attend (would never expect Gabriel to play with them). doubtful they'll come somewhere close enough to where I can pull it off, but we'll see.
^^ Agreed. Houston is the most likely closest place they'd play. I'm not sure what the U.S. draw would be at this point. Before they were giant, they played the Saenger a couple times. Maybe UNO? I'm not sure they could do the SKC, but I guess it's possible.
