Wayne's been taking cute little shots at Jay-Z for a while. Not sure why they're never on good terms, but it probably has to do with Weezy proclaiming himself "best rapper alive" on all 250 mixtape songs he released a few summers ago.
Either way, they've both been slipping, so if a beef (legitimate or fabricated) is what it takes to get both of them back to their roots and put out some really good music, I'm down. Weezy especially. What the fvck is up with that guy lately? I don't want to watch his VMA performance, but I'm going to like someone watching an epic car crash. I hope he has a good set, but his nonsensical "raps" that they're using for his commercials make me think he might have actually disconnected from this reality.
I've heard about the Kanye spending thing too, didn't he spend like a million and a half dollars on a special Mercedes or something? Hood rich!

Yea I didn't really believe the article. Wasn't it trying to convince us that Jay-Z hates Kanye West?
Something to that effect. More like he had grown sick of him through all the time they spent together recording.
And Jay has never made vocal any problems he has had with Wayne. I don't think he has any issues with him. All the beef is on Wayne's side, simply because he knows he will never be recognized as the "best" rapper alive as long as Jay-Z is still making music.
That quote doesn't really mean that he spends his cash flow on b.s. More that he doesn't take costs into consideration for tour production. Two very different things, imo. Not that he doesn't blow his money, but I don't really see how you could interpret that from that quote. Also, that article ended up being pretty bogus all around anyway.
I mean, that's a just a facet of his spending. If he spends a ton on the tour, I don't think it's too far off to say he spends a lot period. Probably more than Jay would at least.

All I take from that quote is that Jay has more business sense when it comes to spending. Again, that article was bogus so I wouldn't put any stock in anything inferred from it.
Of course Kanye spends a lot of money, he has tens of millions of dollars. I don't think Jay is exactly pinching pennies when he goes out either, the dude is worth about half a billion, but I'm sure he is more frugal when it comes to business.

So a week ago I decided last-minute to sell my Moogfest ticket. I bought it super-early, pre-lineup, so I was able to undercut all the scalpers on Stubhub and still make a profit. I turned around on Thursday and used that money to buy tickets to Watch the Throne tonight. We were able to find someone selling floor seats for $130. So tonight we went and saw the opening night of Watch the Throne.
Absolutely among the best decisions ever. Amazing, amazing performance, definitely among the best I've ever seen. We were actually seated towards the back up the floor, right next to the VIP Box, and the small stage area behind the soundboard that Jay and Kanye occupied (to our surprise) at various points in the night. So not only were we seated right next to LeBron James, TI, Chris Paul, Jeezy, Tila Tequila, etc, but we were within 10 feets of both Jay and Kanye several times. The crowd and energy were insane, and the chemistry between the two was impressive throughout the set. They were both absolutely on fire through the whole performance.
Still some 30 dollar seats left. I may end up at the show tomorrow, after all.
I'd jump on $30 seats in a second. Unfortunately, the cheapest nosebleeds here run $53.40 after fees. I can't bring myself to spend that
When tickets first went on sale here the cheap seats were about 60 bucks. My guess is they weren't selling since they dropped to half that in the last week or two. So keep an eye on it, they may lower the price.
I don't think tickets are selling well in general. Not sure about other venues, but there are still lots of floor seats available and the show is less than 24 hours away. I love Jay & Ye, but in this economy the tickets for these shows are way overpriced.

Jayz and Kanye are popular down here. The only thing that may keep it from selling out is that they booked shows in both Miami and Sunrise so it will split the crowd. I doubt theyll need to resort to cheaper tickets

Well Saturday night completely sold out here in Atlanta, but the second show they added, which is the one I went to, still had a fair number of open seats on one side of the stadium.
How was the Atlanta Show? Did it live up to the hype?
I heard it was pretty good. I'm seeing them when they stop through Detroit. This would seem to be the best way to get Kanye back on the farm, but the tour stops well before the summer. Plus the pricetag would have to be pretty big. I would much rather have a Bonnaroo '12 without a rap headliner. Instead, some solid late nights and a stacked undercard. Unless Outkast is a possibility, then I want them.

I'm going to be at the show in Detroit as well. I'm pretty excited. Have seen them both once, and they both put on a great show. This should just be a fun show, can't wait!

I was excited today to find out they released a limited number of $33 tickets. Only to find out after $14 in fees, it's still $47

It would take a really special show for me to shell out 200 bucks for a couple hours of entertainment. But I would go on down there and get your $33 tickets before they are gone
I'm also taking a limo the concert. This way, my haughty rich friends and I can ride in comfort, drinking Ace, Grey Goose, and cognac, while laughing at the plight of the dirt-worshippers grubbing for quarters at the various "Occupy" protests.
1-1-12 Bassnectar NYE SHOW! 1-21-12 G. Love and Special Sauce 3-1-12 Radiohead 3-9-12 Experience Hendrix 5-15-12 Jack White @ The Ryman 6-7-12 Bonnaroo 6-19-12 Roger Waters presents "THE WALL" 7-7-12 Ringo Starr's 72nd Birthday Party Extravaganza at the Ryman
Finally picked up the album cause it was $6.99 at FYE. Me like. I realize the comparison is a joke, but it almost makes me sad how pathetic it makes Bad Meets Evil look, which I was much more excited for.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
"I never bought into the Native American mythology. You can smoke a peace pipe 'til your dick falls off, but I'm not dancin' with any fuckin' wolves no matter how high I get. Not that I get high, but if I did, my shit would still believe in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." -kenny powers
I went to the show in Detroit on Saturday. I LOVED it. It would be good to see at Roo, but it wouldn't be the same, this show was made for Stadiums. They wouldn't be able to have nearly the set-up at Roo... which made it all the more fun.

I have said this before on this site, that I am very blessed to have people that can get me good tickets. I sat row 18 front and center tonight. That shit cray. Bring this show to Bonnaroo. You have no idea how HOVA owns the stage and 'ye supports him.

I am blessed with a very good friend, but the face value is $250. If I would have paid that, I think it would have been a bargain. This was honestly one of the top five concerts I have ever been to.
