With almost all the ingredients necessary for an Atoms for Peace show (Mauro Refosco tours with RHCP so thats 3 of the 5 members present), it's really hard for me to not imagine what if...
Remember when we all discounted Radiohead? And then it turned out that it was probably them and we were all ridiculously psyched because we had discounted them?
Anyone who's thinking it's anything besides Radiohead*Phish*RHCP should stop that train of thought. That's a hell of a top three, and then if its not those you can be pleasantly surprised.
I can assure you with 100% certainty that as of last week it was Beasties into Phish Friday, Bruce Saturday, Phish Sunday. This is from someone high in Superfly. Its certainly possible that this could have/will change at some point, but that was how it was set
so, INSIDER only was smart about schedules in January 2009----but now she knows nothing.
I was half kidding but sort of serious. I don't want to get my hopes up for radiohead. I feel like she's toying with us. Esp when she said "loosely" headliner. RHCP and radiohead are 100% legit headliners. I think one of these 2 is going to be latenight what or preheadliner.
Anything else big enough that fits? R_d___________?

Radiohead - Phish - Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Killers The Beach Boys - The Allman Brothers Band - Eddie Vedder - Drake - Bon Iver - The Shins
[/center]
The Killers (8:30-10:00) > Radiohead (11:00-1:30) Bon Iver (6-8:30)
The Beach Boys (8:00-9:30) > Red Hot Chili Peppers (10:30-12:30) Drake (8:45-10:15) >>>>>>>> The Allman Brothers Band (12:30-3:00)
Eddie Vedder (5:30-7:00) > Phish (8-12) The Shins (6:15-7:45)
So this scenario kind of merges the way they scheduled the big acts the last 2 years.
On Friday The Killers (Could substitute Foo Fighters or Neil Young & Crazy Horse here) play a shorter version of Stevie's spot from 2010. Radiohead plays in the Jay-Z spot starting a half hour earlier than Jay's did so theyre unnopposed for a full hour before the tent LNs start making it more of a true HL spot. Bon Iver plays where Weezer did, The Beach Boys (Could substitute Paul Simon) play a shorter version of the MMJ spot from last year with RHCP getting the Arcade Fire HL spot from last year and Drake plays where Primus did. Allman Brothers (Maybe this could be NY&CH?) do LN which like SCI. Then Sunday Phish plays a 4 hour split set to close out Sunday and Trey leads a SuperJam at some point in the weekend

I know it a 3rd year in a row is extremely rare, but I would love to see Mumford as a pre HL on What this year.
I literally passed out from the heat and missed their entire show last year. I woke up back at the RV with my wife and friends putting wash cloths dipped in water from the cooler on my face.
Wow! I was following the board consistently all day long, because last week, you guys banged out 10 pages a day while I was at work monday and tuesday. I followed everything up until 3 o'clock, leave for a half hour, come back, and BANG!

Putting a late night up against Radiohead would just be cruel to whatever acts they put on in those spots. Who would want to play opposing Radiohead? Those would be some very empty tents and I am not even trying to be biased.

It would be cruel, yes, but Coachella and Lollapalooza put people against their headliners every year. I remember an article back from 2009 Coachella commenting on how there was, literally, not really anyone at the bands playing opposite of Paul McCartney.

I'm sure this has been mentioned, but I think insider's ambiguity about headliner statuses almost confirms that Phish (or perhaps someone else) will be doing another special LN set. I think it's Phish LN on Friday, preceded by RHCP on What and The Beach Boys on Which in opposing sets. Your thoughts...

Right, and if Jay-Z can have a set that is only unopposed for a half hour then Radiohead can have one thats unopposed for half the set methinks. And Jay-Z is an even bigger commercial draw than Radiohead is
