Sporting a pair courtesy of popsicle sarah. Seeing Matt's likeness on the tag was disconcerting and then gloriously heart swelling. I am seriously proud to be a member of this community. Love you guys!

Have been wearing mine nonstop since I got them a little more than a week ago, and everytime, i get a compliment on them and I'm compelled to tell a little something about how great the person these were named after.
Now sanuk should make a non-slip work shoe so I never have to wear Crocs again.

I picked up my CarpeDMs today at the mall. First, they really are the most comfortable things I have ever put on my feet. But, secondly, it really affected me walking through the mall and then suddenly seeing Matt's face. But I love that I now get to honor him every time I wear my new shoes.
Anyone know if these bad boys ever go on sale? I'm having a hard time justifying $55 for sandals. Although I think I'll pay it if it comes down to it, I will be sporting these at Roo '11 one way or another.

Uhhh - it's well worth the price - I'm gonna buy a second pair for elusiveboz and a second pair for myself

If you shop through ebates.com, you can get 8% cash back from shoes.com. They also offer free shipping. And then there are two coupon codes going on right now - HEART for 20% off through 2/16 and CUPID for 10% off through 2/28.
And if you use my link to sign up for ebates, we'll both get an extra $5 when you make that first purchase, which would be awesome because shoes.com only carries the male version
Though, of course, I haven't fully exhausted ebates list of retailers so the women's version may be somewhere further down the list. But you should still use my link ;D
Edit: Moosejaw carries the women's Sand, but not Khaki. And only in size 9. 5% cash back. Don't see any coupons.
There are a good number of other stores that carry the women's version, but none that are through ebates.com. And FAR less than the men's. I've also only seen the Khaki on sanuk.com and Zappos.

So, I bought a pair of these CarpeDM and totally fell in love. In fact, I bought another pair of Sanuk's just so I could save these for Bonnaroo and other musical events. Awesome shoe, and a great reason to make a brand specifically for him.
Okay so I need help. I've been putting off buying my CarpeDM's because I have very wide feet and have NEVER gotten a pair of shoes/boots online that I could wear. I can never even get my feet in most of them. I always have to sell them on ebay or just give them away.
My foot size is a around 81/2EEE. Depending on the shoe, I wear anything from 9 to 10 in "normal" shoes. Trying them on is the only way to know for sure.
So how do the Carpe DM's fit? Do they allow for any lateral expansion? Should I get 10 which allow room to spread but may be too big and flop around giving blisters? Or should I buy 9 and risk painful squishing?
Zappos gives free shipping both ways. Should I go that route and return the shoes for a better size if my first guess is wrong? Anyone use Zappos.com before?
Troo, the shoes have some stretch to them because of the material. I would personally go with a 9 and give them a few weeks to stretch.
You could always go the zappos route. But methinks if you e-mailed Rachel at Sanuk and explained your wide-foot predicament, she would probably help with shipping if you had to send them back/exchange.

Troo, I wear a 10 1/2 2e and had to end up getting a size 12... they are not loose enough to cause blisters or rubbing and leave about an inch of extra room in the toe...they actually real great on my feet...will have to order a new pair real soon though as I wear them all the time..
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

I just joined the forum this past week and didn't know Matt, but I bought the shoes because I'm already a Sanuk fan and the shoes are uber cool. The fact that Sanuk is honoring a fallen roo'er makes them all the more special. Cheers to Matt and all of those who loved him.
wow, thats encredible. I have a pair of sidewalk surfers made of hemp that I got in high school and never wore becasue this asshole guy had them too and I didn't want any association with him , and I thought they looked dumb after getting them in the mail. I've never wore them outside, but I will definetly wear them at roo. Im glad everyone is saying they are the best. should I wear socks with them?
^^^Never had a pair but was thinking of getting a pair in support and was wondering the same thing. Do you wear socks or not? I would almost guess not but I am uncomfortable not wearing socks with shoes most of the time.
^^^^ I haven't gotten them yet but no socks for me. If it's dry I want my feet to ventilate and if it's wet I want my feet to dry. Plus I like barefooting so if I'm laying on a blanket in front of What they're coming off.

I picked a pair of these up last week, its my 6th pair of sidewalk surfers over the past few years but i have to say the best pair yet knowing what they represent!
OK, so last week I noticed Sanuks for sale in a small, local shoe store. I asked if they carried the CarpeDM since I hadn't seen 'em on the shelves. The salesgirl smiled and asked, "How do you know about those? They're new and we haven't started carrying them yet."
So I told her the story, including how a bunch of us Inforoosters planted Matt's tree and hung the shoes. Then I showed her the pics I'd taken on my phone from that day. She got a little choked up. Apparently, the Sanuk crew told the entire story - tree planting and all - at their recent sales convention. The girl was very touched to hear about how the company honored Matt. Even more amazing, to her, was how a little company like Sanuk had touched so many people's hearts through our Internet board. I told her that's how we are - we're all a family. And because of ONE awesome guy, many of us now wear one awesome brand. She said she'd never heard anything so positive about any brand of shoe, ever. It made my day to pass on the story. And every time I wear my CarpeDMs, I'm proud to be a part of the Inforoo family.
So how true to size do these run? I saw on the sanuk website they gave a sizing chat based on how many inches long your feet are but I wanted some feedback from previous wearers of this brand of shoe how they run. What stores sell sanuks and what store might/does have the carpeDM's?
From what I've read/been told, they loosen up as you wear them, and they run a little big. I wear a 6 1/2 and just got a pair of Sanuk Scurvys in a size 6 -- the length was fine. So I'd say go a size down.
Been putting off getting these for a while because I couldn't find a women's pair in Khaki anywhere. Looks like Zappos just got some new stock in, they've got the Khaki color in almost every size: www.zappos.com/sanuk-carpe-dm-w-khaki

Thanks for sharing that. I ordered mine small with that hope. And thanks for sharing the story holls. I bet a lot of people besides me will be wearing them for more than comfort.
Ok so my Hubby and I got our Sanuks in the mail today! VERY EXCITED! Well, Hubby is a bit of a grump stating he will never wear these "hippy shoes"... Now it has been about 4 hours since they arrived and he has yet to take them off. He says they feel like he is not even wearing shoes! Yeah Sanuk! Thaks Matt for all your recomendations..you are truely missed!

Bluh, mine have been tucked away in my closet since Christmas waiting for it to get warm enough to wear them here. I just pulled them out the other day to try 'em on just for funsies, and it occurred to me that I think they might be too big. I don't know why I was too dumb to try walking around in them and make sure they were the right size when I got them, but now when I tried them on again I realized that they don't really stay on my feet when I walk.
So pissed at myself right now.
Might send 'em back to Zappos and try the next size down...I think we still have the box they were shipped in.

Ordered mine from Zappos and they are going to arrive tomorrow. They were $55 (couldn't really find them cheaper), but free shipping both ways if they don't work our for whatever reason. Plus, I ordered them just yesterday. So a two day turn around makes he happy I purchased from Zappos.
I had never even heard of Saunk's until this board. This will be my first roo and was just reading a bunch of the different threads. I pretty much read all of the shoe thread before I even realized what had happened. I never knew or even talked to Matt, but it was such a great story and everyone loves the shoes. So I definitely thought that Sanuk deserved my business. You don't come across stories like that everyday for any company, large or small.
